The bride, given in marriage by her father, was charming in a gown of imported silk organza over an underskirt of gossamer. tulle and silk taffeta, featuring a chapel train. Venise lace fash- ioned the bodice which was gently molded in an Empire line, richly enhanced by a charming sabrina neckline. Delicately embroidered lace appliques adorned her organ- za gloves. Her veil of French cul lusion flowed from a coronet of leaves `of tulle and tear drop pearls, and She carried a bouquet of white Shasta mums and pink roses. Miss Beverly Lindberg, of Tor- onto, was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Sylvia Skel- ton, sister of the groom, and Miss Marlene Leitch, sister of the bride, both of Goderieh. They wore sweeping ballerina -length gowns of cornflower blue silk organza over tulle and taffeta, with draped bodices accenting the fitted waist- lines. Matching headdress and shoes completed their ensembles and they carried bouquets of Shasta mums. Mr. Ronald Skelton. of Strat- ford. was groomsman for his brother. and Mr. Eugene Ryan of Goderieh. and Mr. Robert San- dersn. of Toronto, ushered. A. E. Eustace united in marriage Gladys Muriel McLean, R.N., of London, daughter of Mrs. Ismay McLean and the late Wilfred Thomas Mcl.an, of Gode- rich, and Donald William Cole- man, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Coleman, of London. The bride, who was given in marriage by ler brother, Thomas •IVeLeanl, of Goderich, chose a miramist taffeta floor -length gown. The softly draped bodice was framed at the portrait neckline by aGuipure lace yoke outlined in tiny opalescent sequins, with long lily -point sleeves.' The billowing floor -length skirt of miramist taf- feta swept to a short chapel train. A little French bonnet of lace and net, banded with sequins and pearls from which fell a finger- tip veil embroidered with flower motifs, completed her costume. She carried a bouquet of white carnations, pink roses and white stephanotis. The bride was attended by her three sisters. The matron of hon- or, Mrs. J. E. Sinnott, of Windsor, wore white nylon eyelet over blue tissue taffeta with blue cumber - bund and bustle back interest of the blue taffeta. She wore a matching wide crownless hat, and carried a bouquet of white carna- tions and pink rosebuds. `. Her two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Semmler and Miss Lillian McLean, both of London, wore identically College during the past year. styled gowns of white nylon eye- let over pink tissue taffeta and carried pink carnations and rose buds. The dress was topped with a shrug jacket with high pointed collar and elbow -length sleeves. On their return from a honey- moon in the United States, they will reside in London. On Saturday, June 1, Mrs. Ismay McLean entertained at a trousseau tea in honor of the bride -elect. EX TRUMPET BAND GIRL$ TO JOIN SENIOR BAND Several members' of the inactive Goderich Girls' Trumpet Band are being absorbed by Goderieh. Blue Water Band, according to informa- tion received by Town Council. George Griffiths, secretary of the Blue Water Band, stated in a let- ter to Council:,, "Mr. Charles Woods, our band leader, has taken a class on Tuesday evenings of eight girls from the trumpet band and is teaching them so that they may play three valve instruments as in our band." 0 0 0 TRIBUTE IS -PAID TO•. H. M. FORD, ONCE BOARD MEMBER At the June meeting of the GD+CI Board, tribute was paid to H. M. Ford, who resigned a few months ago after serving as a Goderich representative on the board for 15 years. It was moved by Elmer Robertson, seconded by Dr. N. C. Jackson, that the board send Mr. Ford a letter of appreci- ation for the long service he rend- ered to the school area. Mr. Ford put in many extra hours of work while the new school was being built, said Mr. Robert- son_ He credited him with getting additional financial assistance for the- board from the Department of Education when sale of the school debentures failed to net the full amount expected. 0 0 0 Miss Charlotte Anderson has been successful in passing the shorthand CNR tests at London and again at Toronto. She has joined the office staff of the .CNR at Lon- don. Ranging in age from four to 12 years, ' they are members of Maria de Kurthy's ballet and dancing school. The Goderich dancers include Sheila Mahoney, Mary Jean Blue, Laurie Baechler, Robin Sully, Carolyn Graham, Joan Curry, Caro- lyn Watters, Heather Asher, Wen- dy Mitchinson, Jacqueline Lewis, Sybil Bowra, Ruth Wallace, Nancy Watters and Mary -Jayne McManus. Tap dancing will be done by Edward Curry and Alan Reid. A few of Miss de Kurthy's Toronto students are expected to take part in the varied program as well.
