Perth's athletes piled up. a sub- stantial 59-29 lead on the points system in the athletic events which included races, ball games, and a tug-of-war. Huron Wins The Huron teams took the tug- of-war and the boy's softball cham- pionship. hainpionship. In the girl's softball finals Perth came through with a victory. The field day, an annual event between •the two .counties, wound up in the evening with a square dance competition with Listowel and Mitchell troupes, both of Perth, finishing first and second. Following the competitions the two opposing cam,-ps joined forces for a purely .non-competitive social and sociable dance in Mitchell's Crystal Palace. Ticlaborne, representing the Cancer Society, gave an ac- count of a meeting held. Miss Judy Patterson favored with two pialio solos. (Mrs. A. Shore expressed the thanks of the meeting for the solos. Tweedie. o o o BOY, THREE, IS FATALLY INJURED BY SPREADER Three-year-old Peter Wilier, died at 'Collingwood General and Marine Hospital on Tuesday of last week four hours after he was caught up . and fatally injured in , his father's mechanized Ifertilizer spreader. His mother is the former Mary Bisset, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bisset, of Saltford. The youngster was standing near the spreader when -his -father start- ed up the farm tractor, not realiz- ing the sireader was in gear at the time.
