Aberfeldy Nugget has been mated to more cows than any
of our other Shorthorn bulls. The farmers like his calves for
their growth and good quality. In fact, of our bulls whose
calves have completed the feeding test at Guelph, those by
ugget- had the highest carcass• score with a better than
average rate of gain and feed conversion.
kis full brother, Aberfeldy Orchid AA, is also popular.
Recently purchased from Bruce Fletcher at puelph is
Crichton Baronet' whose dam is a maternal sister to the sire
of Nugget and Orchid. The calves by Crichton B-gronet in the
Fletcher herd are very typey and big for their age.
These bulls come from outstanding families and have proven
that they transmit these qualities to their offspring.

He added, "It's almost as mulch
as your life is worth to drive
around the Square. Down West
street, the speeding is terrific."
Tine magistrate reiterated his
promise to do all in his power to
help curb reckless driving.
He also noted the appearance of
a soft spot in the West street pave-
ment, and predicted that the town
will be facing a rep -air bill as a
result of road damage causby
heavy trucks and speeding.
Loses License
The magistrate lashed out at
reckless motorists after he had
convicted Gordon J. Smith, 21,
ol` Cypress street, on a charge of
careless driving. Smith, the owner
of a high-powered convertible,
was fined $25 and costs or two
weeks in jail, and his driving
license was suspended for three
months.
• The youthful driver was nabbed'
by Constables G. McIntyre and B.
E. Bradley after a wild chase
through local streets at about 11.30
p.m. on April 7.
When he saw two cars leave
the Square at a high rate of speed,
said Constable McIntyre, he chased
them down South street. The '
vehicles went through two stop
streets. •
"I followed them down Britan-
nia road at speeds of 75 mph, but
failed to close the distance," stated
the constable. When the cars
turned off onto Widder street, the
cruiser continued down one block
to Warren street, then raced across
Warren and cut off the vehicles
at Warren and Blake streets.

The magistrate noted than a
week earlier, he had advised the
youth to make a statement to a
court official as to were he had
obtained the liquor, . Observing
that the boy had failed to comply
with the wish of the court, the
magistrate asked if he was afraid
of anyone, The boy said he was
not.
"The circumstances were pretty
bad," commented the magistrate
in passing sentence. When the
youth was arrested at '2 a.m. on
April 18, there was a 16 -year-old
female passenger in the car. She
was in an intoxicated condition,
said Crown Attorney H. Glenn
Hays- The car was not owned by
the youth.
Commenting on Allan's failure
to co-operate with authorities, the
crown attorney said, "He's got a
chip on his shoulder the size of
a plank as far as anyone in author-
ity is concerned."
Argued Over Girl
In another case, an' argument
over a girl led to grief. for Vernon -
George Glenn, 19, of Dungannon.
He pleaded guilty to careless driv-
ing and was fined $25 and costs
or two weeks in jail. His license
to drive was suspended for one
year.
Crown Attorney H. Glenn Hays
said that the; argument started
when the youth was driving along 1
Huron road,: near--Currey2s •sery ce4 . --
station, about 1. a.m. on ,April 10.
He turned around and punched a
male passenger in the mouth. Ap-
parently the matter was so urgent
that he did not take time to -stop
the car.
As a result, the auto left the
road, travelled 108 feet across the
curb and -struck a tree. Glenn was
taken to hospital for stitches, and
the car was damaged to the extent
of around $1,000, according to an
estimate made by police.
