went ahead 3-0 at the end of the
first, 6-2 at the end of the second

Both teams were shorthanded,

two leading teams last week.
Ilderton Wildcats and Lucan
Irish were tied for first place •up
until Thursday night when Ilder-
ton played the Maitlands 'here. In
that tame, the Wildcats'she asked

five counters, while Max O'Neil
and Jack Evans notched four

Win Over Lucan
Coming from behind a three -
goal deficit, Maitlands scored five
times in the last period to -=trim
Luean Irish 6-4 in Lsican last Fri-
day night. The Maitlands per-
formed the feat while using only
nine players in addition to goalie
Don Goddard.
Gord Walters was Goderich's
top scorer, notching three goals.
Dick McLean coetributed a pair
and Len Willis shot home the
other., goal. For Lucan Bill Troy
performed the hat trick and Don
Fletcher accounted for a singleton.
The Irish took a 1-0)ead atethe
end of the first period, surged
ahead 341 in the middle stanza
and increased their lead to 4-1 in
the last frame before Goderich
started to roll. The Maiflands
rapped in !five last perigd goals
without another reply from Lueaii.

successful trip to Lucan were Wal-
ters, McLean, Willis, Bill Jewell

The league -leading Ilderton
Wildcats gave Goderich Maitlands
a 13-3 whipping in a WOAA Inter-
mediate contest played in Lucan
Tuesday night. Though they were
dawn 12.1 at the end of the aeeond
..period, the Maitlands pulled up
their socks and' outscored 'Merton
2-1 in the final frame.

Mitchell 16-3 in Mitchell Menday
night. On the 'other half of the
double-header program., Goderich
Bantams tripped their Mitchell
hosts 11-5. - t
Goderich and district fans will
have an opportunity to' see the
classy Midgets .decked out in their
new sweaters at the local arena
tonight. The Midgets take tin Sea-
lbrth at 8.45 p.m., • following a
Seaforth•Goderich bantam game.
The ,bantam contest starts at 7
p.m.
The Midgets' smart new sweat-
ers, provided by Goderich Bposter
Club, are white with .red • and blue
stripes.
