Mr. ]utters enjoyed lawn bowl- ing at the local club in the summer of 1955 when he was a visitor in Goderich. When Mr. and Mrs. Harry Vines, of Godernch, visited Mr Butters in England land this sum- mer, the latter sent back with the Vines a trophy for competition at the Goderich Lawn Bowling Club. CROP REPORT From S'unlay, September 16, to Friday, September 21, 1.56 inches of rain fell in the county, with the result that -harvesting operations were again curtailed. ' Arproxima+te- r ly one-third of the Spring grain crop is still to be harvested. Much of this crop is rotting in the stook -some farmers are stacking the sheaves as a last resort. The har- vesting •af the canning 'corn crop is in full swing, but has been some- what hampered by the wet weather and muddy conditions of the fields. The white bean crop is nearly all ripe, but harvest operations have been slowed down because of poor weather, -because of this the crop is rusting badly and pulled beans are rotting on the ground.
