OASA PLAYOFFS
Finishing on the top of the l:xg
Four Ladies' Fastball League,
Goderich Dodgers moved into the.
first round of the OASA playoff
against Stratford Kroehlers here
last night. In actual fact, the last
game of the Big Four schedule
hasn't been played yet, but it
won't affect the standings much.
The remaining game of/ the
schedule involves the Dodgerg and
Sarnia Imperials, who are one
game behind the locals. From a
Goderich vievrpoint, the worst that
could happen would • be a first -
place tie if Sarnia wins. So far,
it has not been decided when the
last game will be played. In the
meantime, both Dodgers and Sarnia
are involved in play-offs with other
teams.
Big Four standings, complete
except for the above mentioned
game, are as follows:

The one -hit pitching of Kay Alex-
ander sparked Dodgers to a 3-1
win over Stratford Kroehlers in a
regularly scheduled Big Four en-
counter in Stratford on Wednesday
of last week. The only hit yielded
by Kay was an infield single by
Gladys Skinner in the opening
inning,
It was not all smooth sailing for
the Goderich hurler, however. Five
walks, a hit batsman and five er-
rors by her mates kept her in
trouble in the late innings.
In winning, Dodgers collected
only four hits themselves, but they
were aided by six walks off Strat-
ford starter, Barb McKinnon. and
two crucial errors by the Kroehlers.
The Dodgers' first run came in
the fourth when Audrey McCabe's
grounder, which was muffed by
Stratford, brought in Donna Hoof.
The winning run was scored in the
fifth when Audrey Harrison's blow
scored Kay Sharp.

othy NlcCabe's infield out to give

As stated, the first game of the

to be played in Goderich last night.
The second game will be in Strat-
ford Friday. If a third game is
necessary. the teams will probably
toss for home grounds.

With the playdown for the club

golfers are this week scheduled. to
fight it out.
Tony `Bedard, last year's champ-
ion,, will be going against Fred

strong contender this year, having
combined a pair of 35's to elimin-
ate Jeff Martin over the week -end.
The winners of this week's semi-
finals will next play 36 holes of
golf for the club championship.
The men's handicap tournament
for the Lloyd Trophy is well under
way and Jim Reid and Joe Banville
look like favorites in that contest.
