game at Florence, Dodgers drop-
ped a 5-2 deeisioa to the Chicks in
a game cut short' by rain. The
Goderich offensive was led by Kay
Sharp with two singles.

In the •game played in Goderich
on Thursday of last week, the
Stratford gals downed the Dodgers
7-2 in one of the biggest upsets of
the season. Joanne Castle was
tops for the losers with a triple.

F.O. Glenn Feagan, formerly of
Trenton, has been visiting his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. H. Feagan,
Colborne Township. He left on
Wednesday for his new post at
Penhold, .Alta., where he will be a
flying instructor. He was accom-
panied on his trip West by his
father who will return shortly.
Mrs. Joseph Adelmann and
daughter, Mary Delores, of Detroit,
are visiting the former's brothers,
Leonard and Matthew O'Loughlin,
at Kingsbridge.

One of the most successful lawn
bowling tournaments here in years
tock place on Civic Holiday when
there were 44 entries for the an-
nual merchants and manufacturers
mixed doubles. There was a total
of 22 greens in play.
In addition to many Goderich
entries there were somelrom Strat-
ford, Mitchell, Tavistock, Seaforth,
Clinton, Petrolia, Lucknow, Wing -
ham, Palmerston while one sum-
mer visitor competing was from
Indianapolis. There was a wonder-
ful array of prizes- presented
through the generosity of Goderich
merchants.
First fi.ve winners were from
Goderich with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Scrimgeour leading the parade
with three wins and a plus of 26.
Following right on their heels were
Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Scott with
three wins and a plus of 22.
In third place were Drs I. R.
Hall and Mrs. W. Heitman with
three wins and a plus of 17. In
fourth place were Mr, and Mrs.
E. F. Sale with three wins and a
plus of 15 and in fifth place, Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Allison with three
wins and a plus of 14.
