Referring to a newline built from Clinton to Goderich, Mayor Huckins said he has been inform- ed that the cost of this project is borne by the zone. If such is the ease, he continued, the lakeshore town is entitled to a rebate. Through the years dating back to 1914, when Goderich joined On- tario Hydro, the town contributed to a fund earmarked for such pro- grams, he added. Mayor 'Huckins contended he can not receive a aaltisfaetory explan- ation as to where that money is or of what became of the fund. t'G "If tonere is any money 'haagisrg. around with, our aaa e en it, we In Goderich want it," he declared, Unfair Droll Askd . peri l' sion to place the que .tion on the floor Maria To. 6 convention in Waterloo o September 19, the Goderich mayor claimed his municipality is not get- ting a fair deal. Situated at .the end of the Hydro line, he said the town pays 112 more a horse- power than the town of Clinton' only 12 miles away. Recalling that Goderich and other towns originally carried Hydro Lines into their localities at their expense, Mayor Nuehins says he wants to know who paid for the cost 'of servicing the rural areas of Goderich and Colborne Townships. Mayor Huckins referred to the blue book, "about which we hear so much and know so little," and said he couldn't find the answer in it. "Nor could Ontario headquarters tell me whether o,r not Goderich has a subsidy Doming," he insisted. Directors assured the Goderich mayor that he would be given an opportunity to present his case through the proper channels.
