First Presbyterian Chureh in

marriage of Lois Isabel Charters

The RCAF Station at Clinton
is being given a thorough house-
cleaning these days in preparation
for the RCAF's tenth annual Air
Force Day on Saturday, June i
The RCAF Station, Clinton, is one
of the key stations in the RCAF's
defence scheme for, although its
role is a training one, it is from
here that men and women are pro-
vided to man Canada's radar de:
fences. At Clinton, too, the Air
Force School of Food Services
trains the personnel to operate
the massive kitchens which play a
vital role in the well-being and
morale of Air Force Stations.
On June 9, the Station will be
open to the public from 1.30 p.m.,
to 5 p.m,, with a parade starting
at 2 p.m.

TO PREPARE SPEECH
Beta Theta Chapter of, Beta
Sigma Phi met at the home of
Mrs. Dmily Cory for the final meet-
ing of the season D President Betty
Westbrook presided.
Final plans were laid for the
annual Spring Fantasy Ball.
The guest speaker for the even-
ing was Jack Brady, who spoke on
the preparation of a speech. Mr.
Brady outlined how to introduce a
speaker, how to thank a speaker,
and the basic points to remember
when making a speech.
The speaker was thanked by Mrs.
Martha Rathburn, after which the
meeting adjourned for refresh-
ments.

MANY SEE FILMS AT
ST. PETER'S SCHOOL
A capacity audience viewed two
beautifully filmed pictures, "Hell
No," and "The World's Greatest
Mother," the last narrated by Ethel
Barrymore, at St. Peter's School
Auditorium Wednesday evening.
These films, from the head-
quarters of Father Peyton's Rosary
Crusade, were made available to
P.T.A. units through the kindness
of Bishop Cody.
They are a preparation for this
year's Rosary Crusade, which iS
presently being conducted through-
out the London Diocese by the
Rev. Father Patrick Peyton, whose
prayer, "The Family that prays
together stays together," has circl-
ed the world.

MRS. DAISY STEEP
In ill health for many years,
Mrs. Daisy M. Steep, 66, died in
Alexandra Marine and General Hos-

AIRMAN HERE RETIRES
Retirement from the RCAF after
18 years service has been an-
nounced for Flt. Sgt. Sydney Bid -
len, who has spent the past four
years as NCO in charge M the
Station Workshops at RCAF, Clin-
ton. After retirement, he will
make his permanent home in Gode-
rich. At present he resides at 184
Gibbons street, Goderich.
