AUBURN, May 14. — The Ida White Mission Band of Knox Pres- byterian Church met in the Sun- day School room of the church last Saturday at 2 p.m. The pre- sident, Betty Youngblut, was in charge. The pledge was repeated , seise Marian and Marjorie Young - bait as liag bearers. The Bible readingwas read responsively with ary Goddard leading. Pray- er was given by Barbara MacKay. A' reading, "'Gospel according to Mother," was read by Edgar Leatherland. The offering was re- ceived by John MacKay and de- dicatory prayer by Margaret Haines. Action songs were sung by everyone, led by Mrs. Donald Haines. Mrs. Wilfred Sanderson told the story of the `Travelling Church." Piano solos were given by Margaret Haines and Barbara ,MacKay. The business period was followed by the roll call which was answered by 18 members and two visitors with "Something you Iike about your mother." The 'minutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted by the secretary, Marie Leatherland. Games were played, led by Mrs. Gordon Debit. Mr. Lane spoke on the "Mother of .Moses" and the programs for,. Mother's Day service were hollowed. Rev. John Ostrsm of the Auburn Baptist Church held a Mother's Day service aid Mrs. Robert J. Phillips presided at the organ. Mrs. Ostrom sang a lovely solo. A beautiful bouquet of flowers from Mr. and Mrs. Stanley John- ston adorned the altar. Mr. Donald Ross and John Gra- ham, of Oakville, visited on Sunday Fwith'red Ross. the former's mother, Mrs. Mr. Arthur Grange returned home last week -end from Sudbury where he has been employed for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Davies visited last t. week -end with friends in De. The Horticultural flower beds of the village are an array of color with their beautiful yellow daf- fodils and red tulips. Some thank -you notes were read. A panel discussion on "What is the Mission of the Church," fol- lowed with Mrs. W. Good as leader. Others taking part .were; Mrs. Ed. Davies, Mrs„ F. Ross, Mrs. Donald Haines and Mrs. W. Bradnocic. Mrs. `Houston gave an interesting topic on the study book, "They reach for life." The offering was receiv- ed by Margaret Haines and offer- tory prayer given by Mrs. Roy Daer. Mrs. R. Daer closed the meeting with prayer. The hostess served a dainty lunch, assisted by Mrs. R. Mrs. Albert Campbell was guest speaker and gave a sp endid talk on "Racial discrimination" and was thanked by Mrs. S. Chamney. Mrs. Hardy presided for the busi- ness period. The offering was re- ceived by Jeanette Johnston. Mrs. H. Jefferson presided over the W.A. meeting. Minutes of the last meeting were read and a col- lection taken for the flower fund.
