the Huron Presbytery Young
People's Rally of the United
Church held in Ontario Street Un-
ited Church, Clinton, last week.

London conference.
Maurice Love, of Exeter, spoke
on summer camp arrangements.
Miss Carol Symonds, of Bayfield,

Union Camp and Miss Margaret
Laird, of Thedford, spoke on the
subject "Caravaning."

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Pleading guilty to disorderly
conduct, five young men were fined
$15 each, plus costs, when they
appeared before Magistrate D. E.
'Holmes in Goderich 'last week.. The
men were Robert Hamilton and
Ronald Glazier, both of Goderich;
Gordon Charles Beadle, William
'Gordon Dodd and Allan Craig, all
of ,Aubu .. L
The- charges were- laid by Pro-
vincial Constable C. J. Parkinson
following a fight at Melody Ranch
in Goderich `Township on April 7.

said Crown Attorney H. Glenn
Hays. He explained that chairs
were swung and an army' belt was
used very effectively during the
fray. Magistrate Holmes warned
that if such an outbreak occurred

R. G. CHAMNEY
The :fuse al of .Richard G.'Ctam-
ney, 73, of Belgrave, was ;held
from ,Belgrave United Church on
Monday at 2 peri. Interment was
in Brandon Cemetery. Earlier, fra-
ternal services were held "at the
,family residence under auspices of
Belgrarve LOL, No. 462.
Born on concession nine, of East
Wawanosh Township, Mr. C'hamney
farmed at Marnoch until retiring
to the village three years ago.
He was a member of Knox United
Church and Belgrave Orange
Lodge.
Surviving besides his wife, the
former Minnie Bruce, are one
daughter, .Mrs_ Alton Baynes, St.
Marys; one brother, John, .West
Wawanosh; three sisters, Mrs.
Henry Leishman and Mrs. John
Rutledge, Goderich, and Mrs. John
Thompson, Auburn. A son, Bruce,
died in 1931.

A former resident of Colborne
Township, William ,Allen McManus,
72, died in Langley, B.C., on April
16. Among relatives in this dis-
trict is a 'brother-in-law, Warner
Walter, of Goderich.
Mr. McManus is survived by his
wife, the former Edith Walter, and
by three sons: Walter in Ontario,
James in New Westminster, B.C.,
and John at home; and one daugh-
ter, Mrs. M. Lannigan, of Van-
couver. He is also- survived by
three brothers: Hamilton, of Strat-
ford; Peter and Leslie, both of
Langley, B.C.; and one sister, Mrs.
M. McSherry, of Regina, Sask.
There are three grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Mc-
Manus was held at the chapel of
the Langley funeral home on April
18 at 1.30 p.m., with - Rev. J. 'C:

with her father, Charles Wurtele,
