At Farm Nome On Young Canada Week
NumeroUS letters of appreciatiep
heave no doubt been received by
persons at whose homes visiting
players stayed during Yewig Can-
ada Week. Few of these persons
have inf orined the Sig i• ai-Star of
such letters.
Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Watson, R.R. 3,
Clinton, however, have very y kindlypassed on to the Signal -Star one
of the aforementioned letters. It
is from Mrs. E. Moynes, a another
of one of the young players on
the York „Township team, and
reads, in part, as follows:
"Just a ew lines to let you know
how much my husband and I ap-
preciate the hospitality you chew-
ed Riley (their son) the three
nights he stayed with you. We
certainly feel it was very generous
of you to take the six boys in and
to treat themso well.
"Riley enjoyed the chance to
see your farm as that doesn't hap-
pen too often to a boy brought
up in the city. So, all in all, his
visit to Goderich was one he won't
forget for a long time, I am sure.
'We got up to see York Town -
chip team play en one day. We
were really impressed to see .just
how much people like YOU and,
Gbderieh3 as a whole, n do every
War "'tee mike it possible for so
many bays to come' and compete
in their favorite sport, We didn't
know very much "about your town
before but this wholehearted effort
you put forth has given us a spec-
ial feeling for Goderieh and Pm
sure all other parents of visiting
boys feel as we do."

PEE WEES GET BOOST
IN HOUSE OF- COMMONS
The thousands of Canadian boys
who play pee wee hockey came
in for some special praise in.. the
House of Commons at Ottawa last
week. Dan Mclvor, 83 -year-old MP
for Fort William, told the House:
"SI would rather see a group of
peewees play, go out and throw
themselves into their game, than
all the professionals in Canada."
Blasting professional hockey, the
veteran parliamentarian likened it
to the Donnybrook Fair where "if
you see a head, hit it." He com-
plained that it is no longer a
question of playing the game and
observing the rules.
"Many of us are disappointed in
the great . national game," he
stated.
