Mr. and Mrs. James Reid. They
have 'lived their entire life in this
community. They have six child-
ren, all residents of Ashfield: Ben,
who is married 17 years the same
date, .March 18; Edna, Mrs. Howard
Black; Mary, Mrs. Arthur Stewart;
Beth, Mrs. Ken Hodges; John, on

children and two peat -grandchild-
ren. They are both valuable mean-
ber of Erskine Presbyterian
Church and Mrs. Parks is still an
active worker in the W.M.S. Their
home has always been one of kind-
ly hospitality with a welcome for
all. Mr. and Mrs. Parks have, in
their possession, a poem given to
them by the late Rev. Dr. Mac-
donald while he was visiting with
them in 1940.. This they treasure
very much as it has given them
courage when it was needed most:
Our life is like the dial of a clock.
The hands are God's hands passing
over and over again; the shout
hand the hand of Discipline; the
long hand the Hand of Mercy.
Slowly and surely the hand of
Discipline must pass and God
_speaks at each. stroke;. but over, and
over passes the hand of Mercy
showering down sixty -fold of bless-
ings for each stroke of Discipline
or Trial; and both are fastened to
one secure pivot, the great un-
changing heart of a God of Love.
The community joins with them
in wishing them'many m.. a years
of continued good heath and
happiness.
