HIBSERT `ARE & SON GODERIGH BOWLING Coming Soon Hoekey fans were treated to a fine display of h;eckey at the ia&ena here Friday night when the Merri- tton 11 idgets and the Goderieh Midgets clashed for the right to enter the O.IM.H.A. Midget "B" finals. The locals took the game 9-6 and the two -game series 13-10. The first game played in Merri- tton ended_ ,in a 4-4 tie. Apparently the Goderich ice sur- face is considerably larger than that of the Thorold arena where the Merritton boys had been ac- customed to playing and although they put up a good scrap, (they were obviously a little more tired than the locals at the end of the game. Goals by Jeffery and Leeson at the seven and eight minute marks of the first period gave 'Goderich a two goal lead which they hung onto and added to during the rest of the game. Jeffery scored again at the nine minute point in the second period, while two quack goals by Bowes and Hicks a minute later put !Merritton into .the running. Williamson took passes from Gal - low and Peachey and flashed the red light twice M 20 seconds. Scott took a pass from Gallow and slipped the puck past McFadden, and Stubbert added another one for .Merritton. Both teams racked up three goaLs for the night. Stubbert, Crosbie and Dorman were the marksmen. for Ma:rritton. Each team drew five penalties during the genie. It is expected that the Goderich club will now meet Aurora in the finals. The fllerritton boys are to be oongratujlated on their fine showing this year, having dumped Grimsby Dunnville, Tillsonburg and Amilerstburg to will,, the right to meet Goderich in the semi-finals. 0 LE BURN g. :BlURN, Mae. 12. -The Hor- ton family are truly grateful to their neighbors on the Dungannon 19 line for responding to a fire alarm last Wednesday night 'meant for Jim Hawkin's 'brit 'understood as• Jim Horton's house.
