These men were appointed' by Council. The committee also re- commended that a closer cheek be made 'with veterinarians and that those who failed to comply with the Act be dealt with. A rneeting. was called for Monday, February 13, at the clerk's home, with this committee to discuss problems and to get off to a good start for the year ahead. Bruce Volland was reappointed Warble Fly Sprayer and Harvey Fisher, Warble Fly Inspector for 1956. An advertisement was to be placed in the Signal -Stay re pro- hibiting ears froan being parked on roadways, as this.- is interfering with snow .plowing cif roads. DISTRICT MEETING HERE The annual meeting of the Lon- don Conference Women's Mission- ary Society branch of the United Church of Canada, will be held in North Street United Church, Gode- rich, April 17 and 18. Nine pres- byterials will participate and 300 delegates are expected to attend. Plans for the meeting were formulated at a recent meeting of the Huron presbyterial executive in Clinton. LAKE oHURON 'LEVEL IS LOWER THIS JANUARY Measurements of water levels of Lake Huron, taken by the Can- adian Hydrographic Service at Goderich in January, show that the lake is 21 inches lower than in January of last year. The figures also reveal that it is 37 and three-quarter inches lower than the highest recorded for Janu- ary; 24 .inches higher than the lowest recorded in January, and eight inches lower than average. The level has dropped three inches since December. Measurements taken by same group at Part Colborne on Lake Erie show that lake to be 22 and one-half inches lower than the corresponding time last year, and four and one-half inches lower than average.
