Foot Ball Match.
On Friday evening last the Exeter
Foot ,Ball Club' played a match game
•
with the Eden club on the grounds of
the latter, which resulted in favor of
the Eden boys. The game from be,
ginning to finish was a very quarrelsome
one, and our boys say they never played
a game before where so much disputing
was done. The Eden club was composed
of players from Centralia, Fairfield,
Devon, and other places in the county.
No doubt our team were defeated owing
to the fact that thogreater number went
without having their usual evening meal
with the expectation that it would be
provided for them on their arrival al at
Eden, but which did not prove to be the
case, and therefore could not be a expect-
ed
.
to play very strong g game. Quite
a crowd witnessed the game and appeared.
to be deeply interested.
