Three nurses are joining the
sta;llr of the .Huron County Health
Unit this Month, a meeting of the
unit here "last week was told.
Although ;'the nursing staff of
the health unit lost members in
Exeter and Seaforth, it is expect-
ed that through the Ontario De-
partment, of Health the appoint-
ment of the three nurses will
bring the staff back to its regular
strength.
Two nurses from the University
Of , Toronto, Miss Betty Coney,
Waterloo - and Miss Gwen Barr,
Toronto, and' one from the Uni-
versity of Western Ontario, Miss
Dorothy Sewell, of Markdale, are
slated to be added to the staff.

Hurt On Boat.—Mr. and Mrs: Al-
bert Campbell received word last
week that their son Donald, .who
is a sailor on the freighter Star -
buck, had a serious accident when
he fell through the hatchway, suf-
fering head injuries and a frac-
tured left hip. The accident oc-
curred when the Starbuck was 30
miles out in Lake Superior. A
doctor was flown. to the ship ,to
treat the injured seaman, ,but
pians to remove him by plane were
frustrated by high seas. The
Starbuck brqught him bade to port
at Fort William, where he is hos-
pitalized. Lates't.reports were that
his condition is improving. •
Harry Arthur, ianm distributor
for the B:A. Oil Company, took
part in the centennial parade at
Seaforth on Monday. Accompany-
ing 'him were his son, Mark, and
Mrs. Arthur and friend, Mrs. Ron-

N.Y., July 16. He was the young-
est son of the late Mr.. and Mrs.
FIorence Ms Carthy.

Was sung in St. Bridget's Church,
Syracuse. Burial took place • in
St. Mary's cemetery, Syracuse.
Surviving is his wife, Madeline,;
two brothers, Philip, of Winnipeg,
Austin, of Vancouver; two sisters,
Catherine, of Detroit; Elizabeth
(Mrs. Louis Dalton), 'of •' West
Wawanosh. A brother, Florence,
predeceased him in 1949.

William Ferguson, 73, formerly of
Auburn, who died suddenly, at
Windsor, were conducted there in
the Anderson funeral home, 'by
the Rev.. J. A. Walker, and inter-
ment made in Victoria Memorial
-Park cemetery.
His early life was spent in Au-
burn. He was a blacksmith by
trade, and following his marriage
to Dorinda Lawlor, they lived at
Seaforth, in the ,'Wiest and at
Windsor.
Surviving are his wife, one son,
'Carman, Detroit; one daughter,
Verna, Windsor; three brothers,
Raymond, Verdun, Quebec; Arthur
3., Waterloo; Lloyd,• Goderich; five
sisters, Mrs.• Ruben " Taylor, in
