Born in Dundee, Scotland, he came to Canada 50 years ago, liv- ing for a time" in Toronto before going to Timmins, where he work- ed as a mechanical engineer at the Hollinger mine. On his retire- ment last fall he came to live in Goderich and he and his wife lived at the home of Miss 1. Mur- ray, Quebec street. Besides his wife, the former Janet Murray, of Toronto, he is survived by one son, Murary M. Brown, Toronto; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas H. Masson, Sarnia; three brothers, Murray, Toronto; James, Montreal; Thornton, Syd- ney, Australia; three sisters, Mrs. J. R. Murray and Mrs. W. Morham, both of Toronto; Mrs. A. G. Jones, of California; and two ' grand- children. Funeral service was held at the Stiles funeral home on Saffirday at 2 p.m,; conducted by Rev. Dr. K. E. Taylor, of St. George's Anglican Church. Interment was made in Maitland cemetery. Pallbearers were Malcolm Math- ers, Keith •lathers, Harry Ford, Sam Anderson, David 'Allen and Arnold Fisher. O --•o p • , Ont. A very interesting address on citizenship and education at the Tiger Dunlop Institute meltiag was given by Mrs. Hethering+toff, °of Goderich. The guest speaker was introduced by Mrs. Riehl. She stated the foundation of good citizenship began in the very early life of a child, and issued a plan for mothers to take time to train and enjoy their children. A good citizen has responsibilities 'and should endeavour to live up _to them. Education is a great' asset. • Mrs. H. M9ntgotnery thanked the speaker.
