tDr. Ardis said that the unit had
been authorized to extend the
offer of the vaccine following the
**commendation of Dr. Jonas Salk,

discoverer of the vale, for a
greater time interval between
cytoses.
The schedule will still consist
of three doses, but the time inter-
val between doses will be different.
Two doses will be given with a
time interval of at least four weeks
between the first and second dose:`
A third dose will be'' given some
months later.
The present stock, of vaccine, it
was stated, will serve at least one
more grade, and the Ontario De -

HAS APRIL MEETING
April meeting of the WGTU was
beld at the home of Mrs: Thomas
Graham, Bayfield road, with a
good attendance. There was one
visitor. Mrs. Graham presided and
Mrs. George Johnston offered pray-
er.
After routine business, the ro
call _ was taken. Lieut. Cannons
led in the devotional period. Mrs.
Marlatt and Lieut. Mayo- offered
prayer. The clip sheet on "the
dope peddler" was taken by mem-
bers and it was reported 43 calls
had been made. The meeting was
closed with prayer by Mrs. Gra-
ham. A social hour was enjoyed.

dent' and publisher of The 'Leth-
bridge Herald, a native of Ben.
miller .and a graduate of Goderich
Collegiate, has been appointed to
the Senate of ,the University' of
Alberta.•
Mr. Long is a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. James Long of Ben -
miller. The farmer donated' the
land at' Benmiller on which the
present Benmiller United Church
is located. They were a pioneer
Benmiller family.
There we,re eight sons in. the
family,. four of whom are living
and .four dead.
The four deceased sons were:
John Long, who lived on Cambria
road, Goderich; Thomas, who died
gat Lethbridge, Alberta; Harry, who
was a life insurance agent in Gode-
rich in the building now occupied
by Curry's' Taxi; Findlay, who died
in Texas.
Harold G. Long is the third
youngest boy in the family. The
three other brothers living are:
Dr. Benson Lang, Red Deer, . Al-
berta; Elwyn Long, teacher in a
Hamilton business_ college; Oliver
Long, now living retired at Leth-
bridge and who was in the cartage
business[ in partnership -with his
late brother, Thomas Long.

A "Festival of India" 'night con-
cluded the Mission study for the
girls of Victoria Street United
Church C.G.I.T. Guests were' wel-
comed with ,some of the gestures
of welcome practiced among
Indian an
people—a spray of rosewater, pre-
sentation of „a flower, or a few
grains of rice placed in the hand.
Decorations and Indian. booths
were under the direction of Mrs.
Hugh MeCrostie. At this meeting
seven girls were initiated, and 10
girls received their lanyards, ata
service conducted by Mrs. D. W.
'Williaans.
Mrs. Hugh lii,cCrostie led the
'worship service vehicb preceded
the service of re -affiliation with the
W.M:S.. ,This service was conduc-
ted by Margaret Crawford, C.G.I.T.
president, and Mrs. 7Ernest Pat-
tersen, president of the W.M.S.,
Mrs. Williams explained the mean•
ing of the circle, cross, diamond,
and rays of light, in the affiliation
badge. Mrs. Patterson presented
badges to the girls not already
having them. "
A social half hour was enjoyed,
with lunch prepared by the W.M.S.,
and with the Sunday School teach-
ers of the girl's serving.

Hill Community Club was held at
