Florence Lustig of fashion fame has created to "Super Continental" gown,'
named after the new Canadian National Railways transcontinental passenger
train which will be inaugurated en April 24th. The gown, described' as a
"dream of light blue net with finely and delicately shirred bodice and dropped
torso, trimmed with pearl irrideseent sequins", is modelled by Sis Camp,
pretty television pantomimist, who is shown above posing- for celebrated
New York ,artist Stephen�J. Voorhies. Lois Smith and David Adams, leading
National Ballet of Canada ,dancers, also created a new dance in honor of the
"Super Continental" train:

Sources of revenue during the
past year were the following suc-
cessful events—the summer carni-

ford in December.
Mrs. William Dean reported 150
paid up members, and four honor-
ary members. Several' cartons of
clothing were sent to the. Sisters
of SA -vice at Toronto, •and food
and -clothing was sent to a Mission
in India.
Mrs. Josephine Chisholm, social
action convener, was' 'appointed to
the Board of Directors of the Can,
adian Cancer..Society, and a num-
ber of members have volunteered

the Triduum in honor of Our Lady
of Guadalupe, also in a series of
Holy Hours to obtain the indulg-

blessing and distribution by the
Pastor of. the Joint Enthronement
Pictures of bhe Sacred Heart, and
the Immaculate Heart. The 're-
ligious significance of Christmas
was emphasized •at the Christmas
fair.'
Mrs. Charles Gibbons, retiring
president, 'was presented with a

on fuel oil used last summer
as a dust layer on West street.
At the time it was used, Town
Clerk S. H. Blake explained,
the . regular dust layer had
been used up and none was
available immediately.
The, fuel oil was a bit cheap-
er than the regular laYer, but
if the tax had to be paid, it
Would prove a bit dearer.
So council protested..ilie' tax,
on the grounds that the oil
had not been used • as a fuel
for any of the town's vehicles.
A letter from Hon. James N.
Allan, Minister of Highways,
.' received by council had ex-
plained that 'the - department's
Gasoline Tax Branch had with=
dra[eax levy imposed on
the town. Mayor J. E. Huck -
ins also received a letter to -
the same effect from Tom
Pryde, Huron's member in the
Ontario Legislature.

Clinton saw the vehicle almost hit
two women at the traffic lights in

held its annual "Men's Night" on
ArenaMonday at the Goderich Memorial

An excellent crowd attended and
the dance music was supplied by
Bill Dolby and his Jumping Jacks.
At midnight the girls supplied a
buffet supper and dancing was re-
sumed for the remainder of the
evening.

TVvo different entertainments
scheduled for Goderich have been
cancelled.- First, "The. Mikado,"
presented by the Huronia Male
Chorus, and which was to have
been sponsored bya,the ,Goderich
Liana Club Was cancelled when one
of the principal participants in the
operetta became ill. The other
event was a circus, which was to
come to Goderich after playing in
London. After preliminary ar-
rangements were made for the
circus it was finally decided to can-
cel arrangements. -
