Stay Hi Despite the fact that there 'are no big building jobs in sight, the value of pnilctrng permits issued - so far this , year by the Town of Goderich is wellahead of the value for the first three months of 1954. According to statistics obtained from Town Clerk S. H. Blake's office, building permit values for the first three months of 1955 total $35,$50 compared' with $19,720 for the same period last year: Largest Total In this month alone,' the value of five permits issued totals $21,300 — more than the three months last year.. In January of this year, there • were three permits issued with •a total value of $13,500. Last year there were two permits issued with a total value of $5,500 pa J•anuary,. • Four permits were ` issued in both February this year and in February last year. The total, last year, however, was $8,620 com- pared with a total of $1,050 this . year. In March of last year there were three permits issued with a total value ,of $5,000. It if."doubted, however, 'if this year's total value of 'permits will equal or. surpass last year's record of $1,882,660. Contributing to the record high last year were three main projeots—construction of 26 new rental houses, new grain bins at the harbor and start of con- struction of the new Huron County Court House. Williams. • The bride Was ,pretty in a dress of powder blue lace dvvr_ 'satin with matching redingote. Her ac- cessories were matching, and she carried a nosegay of pink carna- tions. Mrs. Ross Patterson, Gode.rieh, as matron of, honor, wore pink bro- caded taffeta with navy accessories and she carried a .nosegay of blue carnations. Ross ,Patterson, Goderich, bro- ther of the bride, was best man. At the reception which followed at the home of the bride's parents, the bride's mother received wear - dig a printed silk afternoon dress with white accessories and a cor- sage' of pink roses. She was as- sisted by the bridegroom's mother. who wore a navy suit, navy acces- sories and a corsage of red roses. For a trip to the United States, the bride travelled in a cocoa brown ,suit, gold accessories, top- ped by a brown top coat, and she wore a corsage of bronze chry- santhemums. Mason, of East Wawanosh, and Victor Yungblut, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Yungblut, of Auburn. Ronald ,Alton" and Delmer Maize were in charge of the meet- ing. The topic, "Overcoming Handicaps,!' was read by Ronald Alton. Poems were read by Eliza- beth Pentland and Evelyn Smith. Those who attended were pleased with the photography. Mr. Courvoisier, his wife and two little sons settled here last fall.
