DUNGANNON, Sept. 16. — Mr.
and Mrs. Victor Errington, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Errington and Don-
ald Durnin left Sunday -on a bus
trip to the WestTvia Detroit and
the United States.
Dr. H. A. S. Vokes ,and Mrs.
Vokes, Toronto, are spending this
week at their summer home.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gardner,.
Zion, visited last Sunday with Mrs.
R. Fitzgerald and Mrs. R. Gardner.
W. H. McClure spent a few days
visiting his son, Bill, at Elmira,
and attended the fair there.
Mrs. Frank Glenn spent a week
at Wingham hospital for a minor
, operation and is much improved.
Bruce Culbert, eight years, re-
ceived a nasty cut on the side of
his head Tuesday night when he
ran into a pane of broken glass
while playing. The wound re-
quired five stitches.
Don Glenn, in the parachute
division at Loridon,, returns this
Wednesday after a '30 -day leave.
Douglas Reid, scholarship win-

of Goderich, after an illness of
about six months. •
Miss Green was a former resident
df Colborne Township and lived in
Sheppardton 'before., moving to
Goderich 19 years ago. She was
a daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrik Peter Green, pioneer resi-
dents of Colborne Township.
She had been an active member
of Knox Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two brothers,
David and Gavin, both of Gode-
rich.
Funeral services will be held to-
day at 2 p.m. at the Lodge funeral
home, conducted by Rev. R. G.

in Colborne cemetery.

A membership 'drive by Local
2222 of the United Brotherhood of
Calleenters and Joiners of Am-
erica got under way Tuesday and
is expected to continue for at least
two weeks. Organizing the drive
is Frank Maxey of London,. West-
ern Ontario District Council of
Carpenters, assisted by John A. T.
Pirie, recording secretary of the
local union. Mr. ,Pirie says the
local contract rate for union
carpenters is $1.75 per hour. An

W.M.S. and W.A. met on Monday
evening at the home of Mrs. Stuart
Chamney with 17 ladies present.
Mrs. J. R. Thompsav, read charge
