The annual meeting of the Aub- urn Branch of the Upper Canada Bible Society will be held in the Baptist Church next Sunday even- ing at 7.30 p.m. Rev. J. Ostrom will give a short address and there will be a filen shown on the work of the Bible Society. Mil's Amelia Mcllwain has made considerable improvement to her home by the addition of a sun - porch at the front and a sunporch and kitchen at the rear of the house. J. -In failing health for some time, Mrs. Harry Govier passed away at her home in Auburn Friday evening in her *5th year. She was -the former Alice Shep- pard, daughter of the late John and Margaret Sheppard and was born -near Toronto, April 24, 1860. When eight years of .age she came with herparents . to Goderich Township, settling on a . farm' on the Base Line. In-- 1881 she married Harry Govier. Following their marriage they farmed on concession one, East Wawanosh, for 22 years, then moved to the Base Line to the Govier homestead until _36years ago, when they retired to Auburn, 9VIr. Govier died in 1932. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Women's Mission- ary Society. Surviving are one son, William, of Blyth, 10 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. A son, Herb, died two years ago. The funeral was held from the J. K. Arthur funeral home on Mon- day with Peter Walter, of Knox,. Presbyterian Church, in Charge. j The pallbearers were Earl Cald well, Mervyn- Govier, Robert Govier, Carl .Govier, William Govier and Albert Govier. Inter- ' ment was in Ball's cemetery.
