WHAT IS MEANT BY CONVERSION
•
•
•
REV. HOWARD E. MINAKER
"Except ye be converted and become as little ehildren, ye shall
not enter into the kingdom of heaven. St. Matt. 1813.
These words fell from the lips of the Master Himself.
CONVERT means to change over from one way, to another.
In order to convert from- 25 to. 60 cycle it meant considerably
more than changing the plate on the' outside. • •
Likewise SPIRITUAL CONVERSION is not primarily an
.,OUTER work but an INNER WORK. 'It is not CHURCH MEM -
t ERSHIP. It is not GOOD MORALS. It is not UPRIGHT LIV-
ING. Nicodemus was a religion •leader but a LOST SOUL until•'
after his conversion. The rich young ruler was a normal- and
'upright man but void of salvation.
Conversion .is the change over from an .'hid creature to a
new creature. SINS are cleansed away by the BLOOD of Christ.
JOY UNSPEAKABLE accompanies through the PRESENCE of
Christ and Heaven is awaiting by the PROMISE of Christ.
A truly converted person should be a FAITHFUL CHURCH
MEMBER, he should be HONEST, MORAL and UPRIGHT be-
cause of the transformation .on the inside.. Notice Jesus did
NOT SAY "It would be. better tt you were converted Int if ,not
do the best you can and I Will accept you."
He said "Except ye be CONVERTED :. . ye SHALL NQT
ENTER into the kingdom of B•Iea•ven.
It is not A WAY. Itis the ONLY WAY. It' is not OP-
( 'TONAL it is COMPULSORY. , " r
