She noted in her report to coun- cil that circulation and the number of public school rooms being serv- ed had showed increases. 'A total of 164,880 books were distributed during 1953, the lib- rarian. reported, making ' an in- crease of 2.3,043 over 1952. In ad- dition, 2,501 books were added to the collection. ; The co-operative now has a mem- bership of 34 libraries, 10 deposit stations, 223 public school rooms and four high schools. Library service- was extended to 31 more public school rooms than in 1952 and to the Goderich District Col legiate Institute. b• Mrs. Eckmier told council that the library system has 11,770 books in constant circulation .throughout the county.
