The annual Fall Bazaar of the W.A. of Holmesville United Church was held in the Municipal Building, Clinton. Receiving guests were Mrs. H. Cudmore, president of the W.A., and Mrs. II. C. Wilson. The booths ,and tea- tables were very dainty with white cloths and small bouquets of mums. , Those assist- ing to make this bazaar such a success were—in the baking booth, Mrs. B. MacMath, Mrs. Fred Mul- holland, Mrs. E. Potter, Mrs.' H. Williams and Mrs. J. Huller; at the fancy work booth, Mrs. Lloyd Bond and Mrs. D. E. Gliddon; the touch and take booth, Dawn Grigg, and the produce booth, Mrs. W. Yeo and .Mrs. W. Norman. The Mis- sion Band candy booth was looked -son was .read by Ted McCullough. Stock__ and _taurine and -_Eleanor after by Mrs.° Jack Yeo, Mary Hutchins, Eleanor Yeo and Barry Wilson. The waitresses for the tea tables were Mrs. W. Batkin, Doris Hutchins; Ila Grigg, Helen Potter and Sandra Williams. Mrs. Edward Grigg and Mrs. Ninian Heard were kitchen conveners, and were assisted by Mrs. John Grigg, Mrs. Eldon Yeo, Mrs. Reg. Miller, Mrs. Ken Harris, Mrs. J. Cruick- shank, Mrs. C. Hutchins and Mrs. Bert Trewartha. Tea makers were Mrs. Les Jervis and Mrs. Bert. Lobb. Mrs. Jack Yeo was cashier. The regular meeting of the Wil- helmine Mission Band of Holmes- ville United Church was held in the school with Victor ,Corran as leader. The meeting opened with a hymn, followed by the Mission Band Purpose. The Scripture les - The Lord's Prayer repeatedCox in unison. A nominating commit - was tee, comprised of Frances McCul- lough, Mary Helen Yeo and Eleanor Yeo was appointed to bring in the slate of officers for 1954. Marion Liebold read a poem 'Watch the Corners of Your Mouth," and Leonard Wilson read a story "Whose Fault Was It"? Bonita Williams played a piano solo. A contest was enjoyed and the study book period was taken by .the leaders, Mrs. Frank Mc- Cullough and Mrs. Jack Yeo. The meeting closed with a hymn. Mrs. E. A. Yeo, of Weston, is visiting at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Yeo._and- Mr. and Mrs. Frank Yeo. Mr. and Mrs. Bill McClinchey, of London, and the Misses, Betty spent a few days in Detroit. Beginning Sunday, November 15, the service in Holmesville United Church, will startat 130 p.m., with Rev. H. C. Wilson in charge. This time change will remain effective through the winter months.. PEWS OF DUNGANNON Barn, Livestock Destroyed In Fire; Loss Is Partly Covered By Insurance DUNGANNON, Nov. ' 1.—Fire of unknown origin broke out about 10.30 p.m. last Thursday at the barn of Alvin Sherwood at the south of the village on the farm known as. the Culbert property. Mrs. Will Caesar, at Glenn's Hill was one of the first also to see the blaze. The Lucknow fire brigad responded to the call .but the fire got quick headway in the barn which was full of baled hay. Other nearby buildings were protected. but not before a driving shed was also razed.. Implements were moved. but a new manure spreader behind the barn was destroyed. About 1500 bales of hay and 1000 bushels of oats were burned. Stock was removed film the barn. as much as possible. but a Purebred Holstein cow was tran- oed.
