MAPLE LEAF CHAPTER
MAKES DONATIONS
The regular meeting of the
Maple Leaf Chapter, LO.D.E., w:As
held recently at the home of the
Regent, Mrs. A. A. Nicol, who pre-
sided, with 28 members present.
Mrs. C. Edward, educational sec-
retary, announced that the Chapter
Bursary of $100.00 had been award-
ed to Colleen Dickinson, now at-
tending Western University. The
sum of $50.00 was voted towards
the European Relief Fund and also
$5.00 to the St. John Ambulance.
Five gift boxes at $3.00 each are
to be sent to Korea. - -
The Chapter is to purchase a
wreath to be placed on the Ceno-
taph at the Remernbrance Day
service.

Mrs. D. Ewing, were submitted by
the membership convener, Mrs. G.
McManus, and unanimously ap-
proved. An excellent paper was'
given by Miss Etta Saults on the
problems confronting the people
of India and China at the present
time.
It was the wish of the members
that another Christmas party be
given for New 'Canadians, to in-
clude persons in this district who
have arrived in Canada during the
past two years. This is to be
under the direction of Mrs. H. -G.
Hays, Immigration and Canadianiz-
ation convener. The meeting was
brought to a close by singing the
National Anthem, with Mrs. E.
Jessop at the piano, after which
tea was served.
More than half of the hardwood
