HERE AND THERE See you the week after next 'cause of holidays next week. ,The first attendant at the Tour- ist Information Booth on the Square, Mrs. A. McKinnon is mov- ing to Detroit in September where she will reside permanently. A member of the cast of the Broadway production, "South Pac- 1 ilio," Mr. Myron McCormick of , New York City is holidaying a0 the home of Mrs. Ben , Allen, Vic- toria street. He is a cousin of Cassius McCormick who, with his wife, are also holidaying with the ]atter's mother, !'tlrs. Allen. We note from the Chesley Enter- prise that Wietse Posthumus, whose parents came to the Chesley area only a few years ago from Holland, received eight lsts and two 2nds in Upper School results. Not bad for a comparatively new ' arrival in Canada. Contestants seeking new Signal - Star subscriptions in order to boost' their vote totals in the "Good -Will" Shopping Club Contest report evi- dence of "Scottish circulation" in _parts of the rural area. This par- ticular lady found that one Signal - Star subscriber passed on her paper to no less than five different families in a certain village. Evidence that Signal -Star circula- tion is greater than even its of- ficial figure! With six television sets in oper- ation at the same time, the impos- ing array in the store of Wilf Peinhart on Hamilton street at- tracted considerable attention one evening last week and many pass- ing motorists stopped to look. Operating under the name of "Huron County Trade Fair," the first such an event at Clinton, sponsored by the Clinton Lions Club, proved comparatively suc- cessful. With the facilities such as Goderich now has, including the permanent .floor at the arena, ' Goderich is missing the boat in i things like this. However, the ag gressive and live Goderich Juniar i Chamber of Commerce is working on a project, details of which will be announced later, which should prove quite successful, judging by I survey they have made to date. OVERHEARD ON THE SQUARE 1 I —"She's such a busy gossip that I Wish she would get her facts straight for a change and stop spreading false information hurt- ing innocent persons."' BAEYZ--LANNAN An early morning ceremony on August 3 united In marriage.Delina Lannan and Donald Baetz. Father W.
