Wayne Bradks read a was gi -en by Mrs. Blake. Five Scripture verses were read by Nei - lie Jouwsma, Lynda Blake, Joanne Crozier, Diane Compton ana Sandra Finnigan. The collection was taken by Patricia Pentland. Keith Finni- gan. the secretary, read the min- utes. The story was taken by Mrs. Irvin. A friendship circle was formed and World Friends were given out. Miss Lois Campbell attended Summer School this week at the camp grounds north of Goderich. Miss Lorna Buchanan, of London, spent the week -end with her par. ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Buchanan. Guests at the home of M.r, and Mrs. Arthur Spiegelberg on Sunday were Mrs. E. Schmidt, Mr. and Mrs. E. ',,Simon, Mr. and Mrs. R. Sinton, of Kitchener. Mr. and Mrs. Will Smith and family, of Brussels, visited on Sun- day with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith. Guests on Tuesday at the home of Mr. and :Mrs. Maurice Bosman were Mr. and Mrs.. Everett Dorsey and son, Bob', of Lavern, Saskatche- 'van. Sandra Lynn Campbell spent last week with her aunt, Mrs. Stanley Abel, and Mr. Abel,. of St. Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hulley, of «'alton, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bell. On Tuesday, Mrs. Eckenswiller, Mrs. Graham and daughter, Madon- na, of Holyrood, visited with Mrs. J. L. McDowell. Miss Margaret Jefferson, of Don- nybrook, visited on Monday with Mrs. Walter Cook. Mrs. Elmer Bolton, of Hoosier, Saskatchewan, Mrs. Annie Ewing and daughter, Marjorie, of Alsask, Saskatchewan, visited on Friday with Mr. and- Mrs. Maurice - Bos- man. dr. and Mrs. William Robinson of Auburn, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Robinson, of Lloydminster, Alberta, visited on Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cook. Mr. Glenn, of Dungannon, com- pleted the plaster job at the West- field Church on Monday, and the men had a bee ail cleaned up the trees and debris left from the tornado. On Thursday, the ladies had a bee and cleaned the auditor- ium' of the church. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Campbell spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Abel of St. Thomas. The members of "the W.M.S. en- tertained the members of -the Baby Band at their meeting on Wed- nesday , afternoon. The meeting was led by the group leader, Mrs. Alvin Snell. The . meeting opened by singing a hymn. Prayer • was led by Mrs. Donald Snell. The Scripture was read, by Jeanetta Snell; duet by Mrs. Don Snell .and Jeanetta Snell. A talk on a fam- ily in Africa was given by Mr's.. C. C. Washington; duet by Barbara Smith and Donna Waidon; prayer, Mrs. Charles Smith. During the, business part of the meeting, the ladies decided to have a bee and. clean the auditorium of the church. The birthday money which was to have been taken at the June meet- ing was taken at this meeting. Eighteen members answered the roll call with a verse of Scripture, The meeting closed with a hymn and prayer by the president, Mrs. Charles Smith. Lunch was served. Mrs. Emerson Rodger is taking a live . week course in music at Toronto and spends the week -ends at her home here. Miss Mildred Cook, of London, spent the week -end with her aunt, Mrs. Fred Cook. Mr. 1 -tarry Boothman, Miss Hattie Wightman, of Niagara Falls, spent the week -end with the la(tter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wight - man. Mrs. Fred Cook, Misses Violet Cook and Mildred Cook, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. James Boak, of Crewe. Mr. and Mrs. George Lee, of Toronto, were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wightman. HOLMESVILLE HOLMESVILLE, 3uly 15. — The meeting of the W.M.S. of Holmes- ville United Church was held in the church with Mrs. Frank Mc- Cullough as leader. 'The call to worship was read by Mrs. McCul- lough. Prayer was taken by the leader, with the responses, sung by the members. Taking part in the program were: Mrs. Ninian Heard, reading; Mrs. Edward Grigg, read- ing; Mrs. Lloyd Bond, reading; and Mrs. Bill Norman, an article from Newfoundland.. Mrs. Eldon Yeo had a short Temperance' talk, and Mrs. Jack Yeo took the chap- ter in the study book. The meet- ing closed with a .hymn. Mrs. Harry Cudmore conducted the W.A. meeting. It was decided to joie the Huron Presbytery W.A. Mrs. Bert Trewartha and Mrs - Lloyd Bond were appointed a com- mittee to see about communion racks for the church pews. Com- mittees in charge of arrangements I for a wedding reception the W.A. is catering for are Mrs. Bill -Nor - roan, Mrs. Eldon Yeo, Mrs. Harry Cudmore, Mrs. Lloyd Bond, Mrs. Frank McCullough, Mrs. Jack Yeo, and Mrs. Edward Grigg. The meet- ing closed with prayer by Mrs. Cudmore. Hostesses for the day , were Mrs. Jack Yeo, Mrs. Edgar Trewartha and Mrs.- Harry Curl- more. The Wilhelmina Mission Band held their annual picnic on the school grounds. Games and con- tests were enjoyed and lunch was served, to . the children by the leaders, Mrs. Frank McCullough and Mrs. Jack Yeo, assisted by Miss Sandra Williams. Miss Eileen Gliddon has been in London, a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lawson. E. McCullough has re- turned to her home in Toronto, and on July 8 left on a motor trip to Indian Head, Sask. Mr. and„ Mrs. Harry Cudmore have purchased the home of the late Mrs. S. Walter, and expect to move into it shortly. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Williams spent a few -days in Toronto re- cently. Miss Del Finlay, of Clinton,' spent a „few days at her home in the village. Mrs. J. W. Smith, of Goderich, was a recent guest of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCullough. ST. AUGUSTINE ST.
