5-2 To Goderich
Goderich Flyers grabbed off top -
spot in the WOAA Fastball League
last Friday night by knocking off
Kincardine 5-2 -in a game that went
right down to the wire.
The locals held a 5-0 lead going
intd the last inning when the Kin-
cardine batters started a spree.
Up to that time Big Charlie Justice
had allowed only two hits.
The visitors couldn't seem to get
their bats on Charlie's offerings
until young Tommy Wilson came
up with a homer with teammate"
Lenny Cuyler on base. The pic-
ture starled to look darker as Kin-
cardine Pitcher Norm Bagnall got
on and went to third on a triple.
But Satchel Paige -Justice put on
the pressure and put the fire out
before too much trouble could
ensue.
The win was Goderich's 13th in
18 starts. If the Kincardine boys
had won the game, they would
have been in a tie with Goderich.
And, siince Walkerton won the
same night 1-0 over Lucknow, the
Walkerton boys were holding down
second position.
Goderich managed to get ° eight
hits off Pitcher Norm Bagnall',
