Goderich started off the scoring
in the first inning with one tally
and then added two mote in the
last half of the second frame. From
then until the -last inning the goose
eggs kept appearing regularly on
the scoreboard for the Flyers as
the local batsmen couldn't seem
to get to Port Elgin Pitcher Guy
Sparrow.
Port Elgin started its scoring in
the third stanza when Ken Mc-
Kinnon •belted a round -tripper with
no one on base. The visitors added
another in the fourth and then tied
the game in the sixth with a single
tally.
In the eighth and ninth inning
the Potiacs poured on the pressure
and' went ahead 5-3, They missed
is big scoring opportunity in the -I
Vial,, frame when, with the bases
loaded. home run hitter McKinnon
struck out. Then Alex McNeil bit
a single bringing in one run and,
with two out and the bases still
loaded; Andy Grant struck out.
Then Big Charlie Justice came
to -the plate for the locals and hit'
a long single. His battery mate,
Shelley Miley got his bat on one
then, and clouted the ball into lE'ft'
field for a home run. With the •
game tied up, the locals kept up
the attack when Jimmy Bisset clip-
ped a single and Billy Beacom
rapped out a double to bring in
the winning run.
