The Amnerstburg Echo last week
told of plans for the fourth an-
nual tugboat race on the Detroit
River. A colorful event! If grain
boats could only take the time off,
what a sight it would make if a
dozen of them would race from
Sault Ste. Marie to Goderich. Two
of them staged a neck and neck
race for Goderich harbor just re-
cently. Both came down from the
head of the lakes with grain
cargoes. For many miles they
raced on Lake Huron and finally
the Superior edged into Goderich
harbor a scant couple of minutes
ahead of the Starbuck.
Wind storms have brought con-
siderable destruction to Ontario of
late. If residents only knew when
these .storms would be due they
could protect themselves with in-
surance. Another wind storm is
due for some time in August but
it is unlikely wind insurance will
be taken out for it. Election cam-
kaigns in the past haven't been
nown to cause great property
damage.
When a plane pulled out of Mal -
ton for New York City recently
-Goderich residents Were surprised
to find they were fellow passengers
with the same destination. Even
after arrival in the huge metrop-
olis the two couples miraculously
ran into each other on two differ-
ent occasions in downtown New'
York. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hoff-
man and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Allan
feel sure now it's', a small world
after all. Said "Cec" to Dave
when he bumped into him far
the second time in New York:
"Gee, Dave, I'm seeing you more
down here than I do in Goderich.''

Brunswick facing the Gulf of St.
