Two hundred and twenty girls
taking 'the project, "The Club Girl
Entertains" and 162 boys in the
various livestock classes reached
the culmination of their efforts
when the Achievement Day for
Huron County was held ' at Sea -
forth, Saturday.
In the girls' clubs provincial hon-
ors were given to Margaret Mac-
Donald, Molesworth, and Dorothy
McCabe, Colwanash, having com-
pleted 12 projects. For having
completed six projects, county
honors went to: Jean McCann,
Fordwieh; Marion Crcery, Elim-
ville; Donna Haggett, Auburn;
Joanne Easum, Auburn;• hazel and
Emily Bannerman, Seaforth; Kath-
leen Scott, McKillop; Jean, Dins-
more, Ethel; Barbara Buchanan,
Colwanash; Marion Morrow, Cran-
brook; Agnes Lane, Brussels; Mar-
ion Hemingway, Brussels; Jean
Rock, Ethel; Lillian Popp, Dun-
gannon; Dorothy. Keys, McKillop;
Donna Toner, Gorrie.
Trips Awarded
Elaine Hern, Elimville and Ruth
Hemingway, Brussels, were award-
ed trips to Eastern Ontario.
. Trophy awarded for highest
scOre in judging was, made to Bob
Bern, Exeter; shield to high novice
in competition awarded by CNE
575 points,.went to Alvin Cudmore,
Hef►sall; first prize money, also
went to Alvin Cudmore; trophy'
awarded by Junior Farmers, for
three classes of, beef cattle judging
went to George Turner, Clintorb,
with 194 points out ofa ossible
200; trophy for dairy cattle judg-
ing -(Ilolstein) went to Maurice
Hallahan, Belgrave, witlf'101 points
out of 200.
Seniors , winning high honors
were: Arnold Alton, Lucknow;
George Turner, Clinton; Eric An-
derson, Londesboro; Maurice Hal-
lahan, Belgrave; Earl McSpadden,
Seaforth; Fred Gibson, Clinton;
Cart Willert, Zurich.
High score for juniors (under 18)
went to Jim Coultes, Belgrave.
G. W. Montgomery, county agri-
culture representative, announced
that the event was the largest num-
ber ever to take part in livestock
judging competitions in Huron
-County and that so far this year
there are 100 more hos and girls
enrolled in club work - this year
than last.

L1;EBURN, May 27. --- Mr, and
Mrs. Joe Armstrong were week-
end visitors with the latter's sister,
Mrs. Terence Hunter and Mr.
Hunter,
Mrs. John Barclay and three
small sons, Frank, John and Chris-
topher arrived in Goderich on Fri-
day from England for a thrCe
months' visit with relatives in.
Goderich, Thorold and in this dis-
trict. They were met in Toronto
by Mrs. Barclay's father, Mr. Irv-
ing Hunter, and sister, Miss Grace
Bunter, R.N. A Hunter- reunion
was held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs, Irving Hunter on Sunday
afternoon. Included in the group
were Mr. Hunter's daughter, Mrs.
Andy Barrie and Mr. Barrie, John
and Sharon, of Thorold.
TIED FOR HONORS
At a shoot held at ,St. Thomas
over the week -end, John Anderson,
of Hensall, a member of Goderich
Gun Club, was tied for high over-
all with F. Ora of St. Thomas, 137
nut of 150 mixed targets.. Ander-
son was high in the class shoot
with 48-50 and higfi in- the handi-
cap with 47-50.
