he pleaded guilty to a charge of

At a previous week's police
court, Brunsden pleaded guilty, to
the theft of a cash register worth
about $325 plus about $12 in change

one . week, for sentence.
Shooting Accident
The charge was laid when pro-

to investigate reports of an acci-
dental shooting. Brunton was
shot in the hand while trying to

',Two jail sentences were handed
out by Magistrate D. E. Holmes,
Q.C., in police court here lasd,
Thursday as the result of convic-
tions on four charges of tittering
a "forgery. David- MacHardy was
sentenced 'to six months on each of
two charges, the two terms to run
concurrently, and Howard -Creigh
ton was sentenced to one month
on each of two charges, the sen-
tences to run. concurrently.
The charges were the result of
use 'of two cheques on which the -
name of Bert Mae1)ona'ld was used
as drawer. ('rown Attorney H,
Glenn Bays, Q.C., said that the'
two men had concocted the scheme
in order to buy liquor. Mr. IIaays
told the court that she had received
word that Creighton had been

The Huron Hereford Association
held its first annual fill sale in
