THE CHRISTMAS STORY was the finale of the Wingham Public School Christmas
assembly. Friday. Presentedby the grades one and fWo students, it made a perfect ending
for the concert, and a perfect beginning for the holiday spirit.

dies at Huronview
Mrs. Ruby Florence Bosman
passed away December 12 at
Huronview, Clinton, following a
lengthy illness suffered since a
stroke in 1971. She was in her 88th
year.
Mrs. Bosman was the beloved;
wife of the late Morris Bosman
and daughter of the late Mr. and'
Mrs. John Brooks, formerly of
Bluevale. She lived at Bluevale
many years where she was a
member of the United Church.
She also lived on the sixth con-
cession of East Wawanosh and
the fourth concession of Culross,
near Teeswater. Well thought of
by all who knew her, she was re-
spected for her quiet and patient
way of living.
Mrs. Bosman is survived by
one daughter, Mrs. Don (Mabel)
Lamont of Goderich; three sons,;
Jack of Goderich, Gordon of Bel -
grave and Harold of Edmonton,
Alta. There are ten grandchil-
dren, 12 great-grandchildren and
one sister, Mrs. Lester (Velma)
Falconer of Teeswater. She was
predeceased by her husband
Morris in 1963; an infant son Or-
ville in 1914; a daughter, Mrs.
Ray (Alma) Kendrick of Toronto'
in 1945; also one brother and
three -sisters,
The late Mrs. Bosman rested at
the S. J. Walker Funeral Home,
Patrick Street, Wingham, .where
service was conducted December
15 by Rev. J. Roberts of Bel -
grave. Interment followed in
Wingham Cemetery. -
Pallbearers were six grand-
sons, Alan Bosman of Londes-
boro, Da id Bosman of Clinton,
Don Bosman and Larry
L ont of Goderich, Clayton
osman of Belgrave and Jim
Bosman of Seaforth. Fla al trib-
utes were carried by a nephew,
Garry C. Falconer of Teeswater
and a great grandson, Jim Oesch
of Zurich.
DIED
COX—Mrs. Graydon O. Cox, the
former Kathleen J. Terriff,
passed away in her 74th year at
her residence in London on
December 19. She is survived
by her husband, Rev. G. O. Cox
and daughters Mrs. William
(Donna) Langton of Downs-
view and Ruth Ann of Oshawa.
Also surviving are her brother
Malcolm Ross of Pembroke,
sisters Mrs. Olive Boss of Wing -
ham and Mrs. Sigurd (Adeline)
Foien of Mississauga, and
three grandchildren. the late
Mrs. Cox rested at the A. Mil-
lard George Funeral Home in
London where service was held
Monday at 11 a.m. Rev. John
F. McKay and Rev. D. J. Snell
officiated at the service. Inter-
ment took place in Wilsonville
Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. As ex-
pressions of sympathy, memo-
rial donations to the Canadian
Cancer Society will be accept-
ed.
INGLIS—Alexander Mme„ Inglis
passed away in his 67th year at
the Wingham and' District
Hospital oh December 19. He is
survived by his mother, Mrs.
Thomas Inglis of West Wawa -
nosh Township, sigters Mrs.
Betty Flanagan, also of West
Wawanosh, and Mrs. Robert
(Pauline) Adams of Kinloss
Township, and brothers Mac of
Highgate, Rod of Earlton,
Thomas of West Wawanosh and
John of Victoria, B.C. The late
Mr. Inglis rested at the Mc-
Kenzie Memorial Chapel in
Lucknow where service was
held Sunday at 2 p.m. Tempo-
rary entombment took place at
the South Kinloss Mausoleum.
His final resting plane will be
Greenhill Cemetery. A Cana-
dian Legion service in his
memory was held Saturday at 8
p.m. Donations to the Cana-
dian Cancer Society are wel-
come as expressions of sym-
pathy.
DONNYBROOK — The Decem-
ber meeting of the U.C.W. was
held at the home of Mrs. Ernest
Snowden with a good attendance.
Mrs.- William Hardy and Mrs.
Ernest Snowden were in charge
and the theme was Christmas.
The meeting opened by singing
"It Came upon the Midnight
Clear". Mrs. Snowden read the
scripture from John 3 and Mrs.
Hardy led in prayer, then they
both gave meditations followed
by the carol, "Joy to the World".
Mrs. Wes Jefferson .read a
poem "The Night that Love Came
Down," followed by "While Shep-
herds Watched Their Flocks".
Mrs. Morley Johnston read a
poem "In that Little Stable"
"Angels from the Realms of
Glory" was sung. Mrs. Ray
Hanna gave a reading,'' "A
Message of Christmas". Mrs:
Otto Weber told about a Ukrai-
nian Christmas which is very
religious and held on January 7
instead of December 25. There is
a special meal on Christmas Eve
with 12 Lenten dishes without
meat. Church is attended and a
lot of carollers are around. "0
Little Town 'of. Bethlehem" was
sung. Mrs. Edward Robinson
gays ,a reading, ",Ar} Old Fa-
shipped Christmas" followed by
"Silent Night \" Mrs. Margaret
Leddy read a poem "Echo of
Sleighbells". Mrs. Hardy read a
poem "Christmas Is More".
Mrs. Snowden gave a prayer
and the slate of new officers was
brought in which resulted as fol-
lows: Past president, Mrs Ray
Hanna; president, Mrs. Ernest
Snowden; first vice, Mrs. Hilliard
Jefferson; second vice, Mrs.
Robert Jefferson; secretary
treasurer, Mrs. Stuart Chamney;

A note of thanks was read and
Mrs. Hilliard Jefferson and Mrs.
Wes Jefferson also tendered a
vote of thanks to all.
The offering was received and
the meeting closed. The hostess
served lunch assisted by Mrs.
Edward Robinson and Mrs. Hil-
liard Jefferson.

WHITECHURCH — The
December meeting of Calvin -
Brick United Church Women was
held at the home of Mrs. Robert
Scott on December.'i0.
Mrs. Roy DawsOn opened .the
meeting with a poem entitled "A
Few More Days 'Til Christmas":
She then conducted the business
portion of the meeting.
Mrs. Donald Dow read the new
slate of officers for 1976.
Mrs. Dawson requested that
the heads of all committees pre-
pare their ,.year-end reports in
duplicate for the next meeting so
they can be forwarded to Pres-
bytery.
Mrs. Ronald Jamieson gave a
humorous reading entitled
"What'll We Get Mom for Christ-
mas?"
1 Mrs. Peter Chandler conducted
LIEUTENANT
BRUCE HARDY of the Salvation Army
must have felt a little like Santa Claus last week when the
army headquarters in Wingham became the distribution
centre of "Christmas cheer" for needy families in the area.
Toys, clothing, surprise gifts and food were donated by the
Salvation Army, various churches, schools and community
organizations and vouchers for Christmas dinner were pro-
vided by the Children's Aid Society.
