Wawangsli Christmas concert last Tuesday when the glee
club of about 40 boys and girls entertained with seasonal
selections. The'schopl, auditorium was tilled to overflowing
despite the winter weather and cold

MOTHER GOOSE celebrated her Christmas during the
East Wawanosh Christmas concert last Tuesday night when
the kindergarten students portrayed the various rhyme
our customers, special greetings of
the holiday season and our special "thank you."

parents and friends.

Mrs. Robert Skinn, president o
the Catholic Women's League
welcomed those in attendance
when the league members pre
sented an enjoyable . Christmas
program instead of their regular
Christmas meeting..Rev. A. J.
- Nolan also added words of wel-
come and stressed the impor-
tance of attendance at league
meetings and other functions.
The Sacred Heart School girls'
choir sang "Wedding Banquet"
and "Silent Night", accompanied
by Teddy Brophy, Vickie Belan-
ger, Susan Wilhelm and Mrs. Day
on guitars. Miss Pauline Schmidt
gave a delightful reading `entitled
"How Mrs. Claus Saved. Christ-
mas".
Misses Carrie Bray mid Carrie
Taylor entertained the group
with a baton and dance roUtine
under the direction of Mrs. Patti
Robertson. The number was en-
titled "Rubber Duckie".
The Belanger sisters, Vickie
and Carol, sang duets called
"What Child Is This?" and
"Drummer Boy", .accompanied
by Vickie on the guitar.
The CWL executive then pre-
sented a humorous skit entitled
"The Christmas Cake". Cast
members were Mrs. Gerry
Belanger, Mrs. Skinn, Mrs. Brian
Douglas, Anne Morrison and
Mrs. Anita McKinley.
After more numbers by. the
girls' choir and a readipg by Mrs.
E. Mahe, entitled "The Master Is
Coming", the group enjoyed a
singsong of Christmas carols
conducted by Mrs. Day. Mr. and
Mrs. Claus then arrived to pre-
sent gifts and treats to everyone
in attendance.
Mrs. Belanger thanked Mrs.
Day and Mrs. O'Malley for the
choir's performance and also ex-
pressed gratitude to Mrs. Robert-
son for her group's entertain
ment. 'Happy Birthday' was sun
to Mrs. Day and she was pre -
f sented with a small gift for her
time and work spent with ' the
choir.
_ The program ended with a deli-
cious pot luck lunch, followed by
a draw for the missions. First'
prize was a doll made by Mrs.
George Skinn, Sr.; second, a
Kleenex box cover made by Miss
Mary Hehn; third, a clown made
by Mrs. Rosemary Schwichten-
berg. -
Thanks to Mrs. deBruyn for her
sale table of knitwear. Her time
and work is appreciated.

Children hold
Christmas meeting
WHITECHURCH — Chalmers
Children of the Church held their
December meeting on Sunday in
the Sunday, School room during
church service.
David Ross, first vice-presi-
dent, presided and gave the call
to worship. The scripture was
read by leader Mrs. Archie
Purdon. Kendra Purdon led in
prayer.
Vicki Scott read the minutes
and called the roll, answered by
ten members giving a word from
the Christmas story. The birth-
day calendar was marked.
All sang "Away in a Manger"
with Christmas music in the
background from the record
player. The closing prayer was
given by Vicki Scott.

enjoyed by all.

BELGRAVE Pupils of ''East
Wawanosh Public School pre-
' sented their annual Christmas
concert to many friends and
parents on Tuesday evening.
Ther. were seven main pre-
sentations in which mostly junior
children participated. Kinder-
garten class presented a play
called "Mother Goose's Christ-
mas." Seventeen students were
involved Grades 1 and 2 pre-
sented an operetta entitled
"Christmas Eve's Ireafn "
Grades 2 and 3 combined their
talents and also presented an
operetta, "Santa Claus Ex-
press." The Classes of 4 and 5
entertained the audience with a
combination of a sing -song, piano
solos and a play entitled "Christ-
mas All Over the Place." The
school's Glee Club, which con-
sisted of some senior pupils, sang
many Christmas songs.
The final event of the evening
was the Primary mass choir con-
sisting of Kindergarten to Grade
three.
They sang four songs.
The children were all very
entertaining. A lot of hard work
was done in ..getting the scenery
prepared for their plays.
The eveningwas enjoyed by
everyone and there were many
very proud parents and teachers.
Thank you to all who helped
make Tuesday, December 16 an
xciting and enjoyable night.

PRESBYTERIAN WEDDING—Betty Cowan, daughter
Mr. and Mrs. M. Cowan of Listowel was married to Tom
Haugh of Kincardine, son of Ivan Haugh of RR 1, Wingham
and the late Mrs. Haugh at Listowel Presbyterian Church
on December 5. The couple will live in Kincardine.
