ch's goal at 3:36 and Steve Cas -
lick's unassisted goal at 4:19
closed the gap to 6.5 and the
locals were right back in the
game. At 8:36 it was a tie game as
Kevin Murray deflected one into
the Wiarton net with assists going
to Bernie Haines and Craig Lind-
say.
With the score tied 6-6 the Iron -
men put forth, a lot of pressure
but just couldn't get the go-ahead
goal and' the ;game ended that
way. Wiarton Dynamos and the
local Ironmen remain dead-
locked at the top of the league.
0.4.4
WHISTLE STOPS: The
Ironmen were lucky to come out
of this one with a tie; they
stopped skating in the second and
it almost . spelled disaster. The
Dynamos certainly played good
positional hockey and their wings
were coming back, picking up
their checks and • thus nullifying
any Ironmen attack.
. Three stars in . this one were
Doug Leitch, Bernie Haines and
Wiarton's W. Herman. Doug
Leitch led the Ironmen with the
hat tuck. Bernie Haines, up from
the Midgets, -played a steady,
heady game at the blueline. Mark
Chisholm played a good -hitting
game and carried the puck with
authority.
The defence injuries „continue
to mount. Greg Hamon left in
the second with a bruisled leg and
his running mate, Mark Chis-
holm; took a stick in the beak and
left the game in the third, forcing
coach George Skinn to move for-
wards Murray Black and Ian
Montgomery back to blueline
duties.
Winners of the first two Wing -
ham Booster Club draws for
$100.00 were Wayne Brown and
Alf Lockridge. Next Sunday night
the Ironmen host the Markdale
Mohawks at 7:30 and don't forget
that Boxing Day Special at
2:00 when the Arthur Screaming
Eagles Rnd their rabid r fans in
vade he local `arena.

'1837' to play
on television
Theatre Passe Muraille's
impressive stage production of
1837 (The Farmer's Revolt) will
be seen on ,CBC TV's Perform-
ance series on television on Dec.
21 at 9 p.m.
Directed by Paul Thompson
and written by Rick Salutin, the
play was a smash hit when it
played at the Livestock Sales
Barn in Listowel. It is an
imaginative dramatization of the
rural rebellion in Upper Canada
in 1837 headed by Mackenzie.

The badge work in the 1st
Wingham Troop has improved
very much.
Last Wednesday, the District
Commissioner visited the troop
and talked on badge work. There
has been a change in the badge
requirements. The achievement
badge requirements are harder,
but the challenge badge require-
ments are the same.
On Dec. 5, 6 and 7, we had a
camp at Camp Martin where
some boys earned their bronze
stage conservation badges.
On Dec. 19 we are planning a
Christmas party and all parents
are invited. The Scouts are also
planning to enter a float in the
Santa Claus parade on Dec. 20.
We are also going to the hospi-
tal and nursing home and other
places on Dec. 24 to sing.
THE WINGHAM FIGURE 'SKATING CLUB received generous returns by sending its

Rumor has it that bus driver

Seems they believe that on the

CANADIANS WIN
IN ATOM ACTION
The Canadian Tire Canadians
blanked out the Brophy Bruins
last week in Atom House League
action. The score at the end of a°
hard-fought game last Thursday
was 1-0 for the Canadians. New
team standings are: Bruins, 4;
Northstars, 3; Canadians, 3.
STEVEN MacLEAN of the 1st Wingham Boy Scouts was well rewarded for his work last
Wednesday when he was presented with the coveted "Pathfinder" award by Scouter Jeff
Croskill. The award is the second highest presented in Scouting today and requires an
enormous amount of work for badges and projects.
