FORDWICH '- The evening
unit held its December meeting
in the United Church basement,
featuring a hot pot luck supper.
Mrs. Carl D'Arcey presided for
the business, opening with a
poem entitled "A Gift For
Jesus".
Mrs. D'Arcey and Mrs. Gibson
told the traditional Christmas
story in the form of separate
readings with the following head -
Say, that's a bad tooth
you have there, Amos!

were interspersed with carols.
Mrs. Livermore sang a solo, `*Do
You Hear What I Hear?"
Mrs. Gibson closed the pro-
gram with an appropriate poem,
"Keeping Christmas", and
"Silent Night" was sung. A
Psalm, was read in unison and
Mrs. D'Arcey dosed the meeting
with the benediction. Gifts were
exchanged and names of secret
pals revealed.

euchre were played last Wednes-
day . evening in the Belgrave
Community rooms. High lady

discussed and actually practised during "Teen Club" sessions at the Wingham Public
School. It may look easy, but teacher Mrs. Donna Anderson told her students that all too
many girls take the easier, and more awkward, way out.
Come Alive Club
Christmas party
GORRIE — The Senior
Citizens' "Come Alive Club" held
its Christmas party in the town
hall on Tuesday evening. Over 60
enjoyed the Christmas dinner.
Mts. Glad Edgar gave the
origin of several Christmas
carols, the singing of which was
led by Rev. Wesley B. Ball and he
also gave a Christmas message.
Warren Bali and Paul Moir fa-
vored with classical guitar music
and Warren sang solos of his own
composing.
Miss Jean Sparling read a
poem, "Inflation", composed by
her father, Harvey Sparling.
Bingo games were enjoyed.
Harold Robinson presented the
slate of officers for 1976 as fol
lows : President, Mrs. Gerald
May; 1st vice president, Martin
Scott; 2nd .vice president, Mrs.
Glad Edgar; treasurer, Miss
Jean Sparling; secretary, Mrs.
Jaques. .
Social conveners are Mr. and

Betty Doreen Cowen of Hamil-
ton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Maurice G. Cowen of Listowel
was married to Thomas David
Haugh of Kincardine, son of Ivan
Haugh of RR 1, Wingham and the
late Mrs. Haugh, at Knox
Presbyterian . Church, Listowel,
Dec. 5 by Rev. Gordon Beaton,
former minister of Knox Presby-
terian Church, Listowel, and pre-
sently of Scarborough.
Mrs. Gerald Fagan of Listowel
was organist in the church which
was decorated with two lighted
Christmas trees with a basket
arrangement of daisies and holly
in the center.
For the double -ring candlelight
ceremony the bride wore a white
polyester sheer dress over taffeta
with daisy trim which formed the
square yoke, back and front. It
was. outlined with aruffle, of dress. .
fabric. The floor -length gown
with train was finished with a
wide ruffle matching the ruffle on
the yoke. Daisy trim also outlined
the cathedral length veil. The
bride carried a cascade bouquet
MARRIAGE VOWS were exchanged by Marlene Marie
Jamieson and Peter John Henderson on Friday, Oct 10 in a
ceremony performed by Rev. R. H. Armstrong in St. An-
drew's Presbyterian Church, Wingham. Parents of the
bride are Mr. and Mrs. Ross Jamieson of Wingham. The
room is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Henderson of
Wallaceburg. Mr. and Mrs. Henderson are residing at 40
Dauw Street, Wallaceburg.

Heffer of Listowel. Junior usher
was Gary Cowen of Listowel,
bride's brother.
For the reception at Knox
Presbyterian Church school hall,
Listowel, the bride's mother wore
a floor length gown of apricot knit
jersey, with white lace trim and a
corsage of blue -tipped carna-
tions.
For her going away ensemble,
the bride :mire -:.et blue; knit, dress
with black accessories and -a c ij
sageof yellow roses.
The couple will live in Kin-
cardine.
Wingham Wi holds
Christmas party
A Christmas party for the
members of the Wingham branch
of the Women's Institute was en-
joyed when a turkey dinner was
held at St. Andrew's Presby-
terian Church.
Carol singing was enjoyed and
gifts were exchanged. Mrs. Oscar
Holmes and Mrs. D. S. Mac -
Naughton gave humorous read-
ings.
The members are extremely
grateful to Stephen Burke who
entertained the ladies with
several selections on the accor-
dion; and members of the Deb -U -
Tons, Pam Cameron, Susan
Brown, Heather and Connie
Streich. The selections were en-
joyed by the ladies who ap-
preciate the 'young people giving
of their time and talent.
Mrs. M. Bradburn, with her
harmonica, and Mrs. C. Sewers
as accompanist on the piano,
gave several selections after
which refreshments were served.

Next week, Dr. Denzil Ray -
more of Central Baptist Semin-
ary, Toronto, will lead the
congregation in Christmas wor-
ship.
On Friday evening, members
of the Sunday School presented'
their annual Christmas program.
Frank Collar," superintendentof
the school, was master of cere-
monies. A film entitled
"Christmas in Hong Kong" was
shown as a highlight of the even-
ing and candies and gifts were
distributed to the children.
FORDWICH
The sympathy of the commun-
ity goes to Mr. and Mrs. John
Johnson in the death last week of
the former's father, Lorne John-
son of Palmerston.
Mrs. Phebe Haverfield of
Woodstock spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Haver -
