oar own village called TIDY Town,
made a grid for it and mapped
the town. We also borrowed all
the Plasticine in the school and
built five small 'mountains. We
put contour rings on the moun-
t*ins every 2.5 cm and then
mapped the mountains. We will
be goiunext 'to Junctionville.
There we will become town
planners and set up an imaginary
village.
GRADE FIVE ,
The grade fives have started
Christmas preparations. Mr.
Kerr read Becky's Christmas to
the class. We are making an
advent wreath to help celebrate
the advent season. The wreath
has four candles. One candle is to
be lit each Sunday before Christ-
mas. We have begun a study of
Christmas herbs. The first one we
experimented with was sage. We
tasted, smelled, weighed and
measured.
GRADE SIX
Grade six has finished studying
the civilization of the Aztecs of
ti Mexico. We are now studying
modern Mexico and have just
listened to . the best known tunes
from that land. Ahead is the task
of learning a Spanish Christmas
Carol and Wiak ng a pinata. This
is a specialty of the season in
Mexico and takes the place of
Sahta's visit which is not too
stressed in a warm land.

eight -have 'begun rehearsals for
the Christmas concert. The pro-
