Tuesday morning.
Mrs. Yvonne Housser, 38, of RR
. 2, Wroxeter, along with her son
Jobb, 17, were transferred to a
Kitchener hospital after receiv-
ing treatment at Listowel Memo-
rial Hospital. Mrs. Housser sus-
tained a spine injury while John
received a broken pelvis and
other posdible internal injuries.
Three other sons, David, 15,
Brian, 13, and Stephen, 9, were
taken to the Listowel hospital
where they remained for obser-
vation after being treated for
minor injuries, Mark, 11, was
treated and re-leased.
Ontario Provincial Police,
Listowel detachment said that
when they arrived on the scene
around 8:20 a.m. two ambulances
had already arrived.
The 1974 Ford station wagon,
driven- by Mrs. Housser, had slid
off the road and hit a tree broad-
side. Two of the brothers were
trapped inside the vehicle for
about 30 minutes. Not until a door
had been -ripped off were they
able to escape and..receive treat-
ment.
Police said snow was falling
when they arrived on the scene,
making the rpads1l ppery.
CIL TROPHY, donated by Canadian Industries Limited to
the.top score in the swine section of the Judging Competi-
tion. Won by Jim Fairies, RR 1, Gorrie, a member of the
Huron County 4-H Veterinary Club, who had a score of 145
out of a possible 150 points, presented by Jim Johnston,
Agromar-t Manager. of CIL, Brussels.
TORONTO -DOMINION BANK AWARD, donated by the
Seaforth Branch, Toronto -Dominion Bank, to the Champion
AIlRound 4-H Livestock Showman, determined at Seaforth
Junior Fair. John Van Vliet, RR 2, Brussels, a member of
the North Hurop 4-H Swine Club, received the award from
Stu Couiiland, of the Toronto -Dominion Bank.

FAMILY SENT TO HOSPITAL -Mrs. Yvonne Housser of RR 2, Wroxeter and her five
sons were all sent to Listowel Memorial Hospital after her station wagon slammed into a -
tree just off Highway 86 near Molesworth Tuesday morning. Four of the younger brothers .
sustained minor injuries while Mrs. Housser and son, John, 17, were transferred to a
Kitchener hospital for further treatment.
Several people injured
in vehicle accidents
Five persons were reported in-
jured last week in motor vehicle
accidents investigated by the
Wingham detachment of the On-
tario Provincial Police. The
Wingham OPP also issued 17
warnings under the Highway
Traffic Act, charged seven per-
sons under the Liquor Control Act
and two under the Criminal Code.
Mrs. Nellie Kaufman of R1 1,
Cargill, was injured last Tuesday
in a single -car accident on High-
way 4, north of the Blyth CPR
crossing,. Morris Township. .Also
injured. was a passenger in her
car, Jacob Kaufman, also of Car-
gill. Both were taken to the Wing -
ham and District Hospital and'
admitted with multiple injuries.
Damage was estimated at $1,000.
Irma D. Guy was also reported
injured Tuesdady when her car
went into a ditch on Highway 86,
east of the CNR crossing, Turn -
berry Township. ,Estimated
damage was $500.
Daniel T. Campbell of Bluevale
was injured in a single -car acci-
dent Saturday on Concession B,
east of Highway 4, Turnberry
Township, when his car left the
road and struck a tree stump. Mr.
Campbell was admitted to the
Wingham, hospital for observa-
tion: Damage to the car was esti-
mated at $800.
Michael A. Lee of Southampton
- was reported injured Sunday
when his car veered across the
road, went off and struck some
fence posts before rolling over
into a field. The accident oc-
curred on Highway 4, south of
Huron. Road 16; East Wawanosh
Township. Damage was esti-
mated at $2,000.
Minor damage was. incurred
last Monday when a car driven by
George Howson of Wingham was
in collision with an unknown
vehicle on Highway 86, west of
the CNR crossing, Turnberry
Totvnship. Estimated damage

Belgrave, was involved in a
single -car accident last Tuesday
when his car entered a ditch and
struck a tree stump. The accident
occurred on Sideroad 34-35, north
of Concession 8-9, East Wawa -
nosh Township. Estimated
damage was $1,500.
A collision was, reported that
same day on County Road 12,
north of County Road 25, Grey
Township, involving Murray D.
Calvin -Brick
supper, program
BELGRAVE - On Saturday
evening Calvin -Brick Church
held its congregational supper
and program in the basement of
the Belgrave United Church, with
an excellent crowd in attendance.
The program was provided by
the children of the Sunday School
with Jim Beecroft as chairman.
The program included a duet by
Cathy Shiell and Lisa Thompson;
piano solos by Marilyn Jamieson
and Cathy Shiell ; two readings by
Lorianne Jamieson ; a comic duet
by Gordon and Marilyn Jamie-
son ; a duet by Lisa Thompson
and Cathy Shiell accompanied by
Lori Thompson and Patty Shiell
" with their guitars and Mrs.
Sydney Thompson on the piano.
Two action songs by Heather
Shiell, Stephen and Cathy Dow,
Robert Gordon. Angela and
Jhson Couites, were followed by a
diologue entitled. "The Mini-
ster's Mistake".
Rev. John Roberts spoke brief-
ly.
Miss Janet Watson of London
showed slides of a trip she had
taken this summer to European
countries. The program closed
with all singing "Blest Be the Tie
that Binds".
Irwin of RR 1, Belgrave and
Susan J. Bridge of RR 4, Brus-
sels. Damage was estimated at
$600.
A car owned by Carman A.
Riley of RR 1, Londesboro, was
damaged last Thursday when it
was struck by a vehicle driven by
Keith A. Lapp of RR 1, Auburn.
The Riley vehicle was parked on
Dinsley Street, Blyth at the time.
Damage was estimated at $160.
Maurice Baylor of RR 1, Wing -
ham and Darryl K. ,Baylor of
Fordwich were involved in a
collision Friday on Highway 87,
east of Huron, Road 28, Howick
Township. Estimated damage
was $1,000.
A collision on Saturday in-
volved Robert B. Smith and Rose
M. Minogue, both of Wingham.
The accident occurred on Arthur
Street, north of MacDiarmid
Street, Turnberry Township.
Damage was estimated at $1,900:
Estimated damage was also
heavy in a second collision that
day involving William G. McCor-
mick of Wingham and James M.
Thompson of Bluevale. The acci-
dent occurred' on Highway 86,
east of the CNR crossing, Turn -
berry Township. Total damage
was estimated at $1,700.
The Wingham and District
.Hospital reported two additional
injuries last week. Mrs. Lynda
Lents of Wingham was admitted
to the hospital for observation
after an accident last Thursday
when her car was sandwiched be-
tween two other vehicles in a
rearend collision. Kenneth

WHITECHURCH - Rev. Wil-
ena Brown was guest speaker for
the meeting of the Young
People's Society. She chose as
her topic "Sacredness of Life".
For the scripture lesson, she read
from the book of Genesis.
President Barry Elliott was in
charge of the meeting which was
held Sunday evening in Chalmers
Church. The meeting opened with
a singsong and Bev Kay led in
prayer.
Following Miss Brown's in-
teresting talk, the group of 26 di-
vided into discussion teams to
talk about the information given
in her address. The offering was
received by John deBoer.
The young people decided to go
carolling on the evening of
December 24.
Following the close of the
meeting, Grace was sung and
lunch was served by the com-
mittee.
