Back for another season as host -moderator of CBC -TV's This Is The Law series, Austin Willis invites you to tune in Tuesday nights at 8:30 and catch the comic antics of Lawbreaker Paul Soles - as well as the friendly rivalry and quips exchanged among panelists Larry Solway, Bill Charlton, Susan Keller and Hart Pomerantz as they speculate upon where the Lawbreaker (or each other) went wrong. You Are The Detective The new detective, young Tom Winstell, is relating the story of his finding a man's body washed up on the bank of the river on the western outskirts of the town, and of how after he had succeeded in cleaning off some of the blood that had cov- ered the face from the gaping wound on the forehead, he had identified the body as that of "Big Mike" ` Blackwell, Local gambling figure who had been 'ported missing' three days You . and the young -detective are standing in the corridor of the building that. houses the morgue, and you have not yet seen the body. ei ,steporti ,.have"-beaW-out on Blackwell," says Winstell, "and the department has been on the Iookout for him, or for information as to his where- abouts. There have been lots of reports, stories, and complaints throughout the past year from many of our good citizens about some of the 'fast deals' Big Mike has slipped over on them, and we even got wind of some threats made against him by. some who lost big amounts of money gambling with him. We thought at first that maybesome of these threats caused Blackwell to skip town. But now it looks as though someone got to him, Clobbered . him over the head, and threw him into the river where he's been floating these past three days. "Three days?" you ask with upraised eyebrows. "Oh ... I forgot to tell you, ' the medical examiner established the fact that he's been dead at least that long:" "That may be so," you nod, "but there's one gaping, error in your story - which, of course, I'll chalk up to your -inex- perience." Why ... what mistake did I nuke?" the young man's face flushes as he_throws a startled look at you. Lor' YOU know what mistake Tom Winstell made? SOLUTION -.aunt Llama augpamos ianp sip oiu!
