SCIENTIFIC TOUR rades four, five and atx wOnt. on a very interesting a ccarrssion'to the Ontario ence Centre in Toronto on Wednesday, Nov. 5. Everyone en)nyed themselves while learning, many new t .hags., We were very impressed d •. with many inStruments towork w, the escalators, mut the great size of Toronto. Our classes benefitted most from the demonstr, atiens that were presented to us. Transportation Display At the Science Centre we saw au old car. It was in very good shape. Then we moved on to **0 game .that tested our stopping time. It was hard. Then we saw some old, old bicycles. They were magnificent, but I wouldn't want one. Next we tried a game that tested1 how ow w e! we could judge distances. We saw a Jet boat. It was snazy. Then we went into the balloon section. There was, a large balloon. It went up and down, because the heated air caused it to rise. We found many interesting displays in the trans- portation section. • Bert Sjaarda Water Cycle Working In a dark passage way we found a model of a town. At the display, we pushed a buttons Then it started to rain and storm.. The clouds got darker. Then the town sights turned off and on. After the storm, the, cycY began again. A voice explained'how the water cycle repeated over and over. This UMs a very interesting model. —Bryan Shaw ' The Human Body Our class visited the theatre where there was a lady who told us about the human body. She showed -us a real skeleton. She also showed us that there are 206 bones in the bpdy. We did , an experiment with taste and touch, After that we learned about the lungs and how many veins we have. 'Vile learned that when you smoke there is a build up of tar in the lungs. We heard Steven's heart beat. After he ran .on the spot his heart went faster. I really enjoyed the whole trip. -Cheryl Ann Searson V€s'vtlis' fi5re4td.'`a' thanks to the parents. who accom- panied us on our trip and helped to make it a very successful day.
