unit meeting

BELGRAVE — The October
meeting of the evening unit,
United Church Women, was held
at the home of Mrs. George r e John-
.
ston with 16 pre ent. Mrs. Jack
Higgins opened the meeting with
the worship service. The theme
was "You are never defeated
until you think you are".
A poem, "God Rules", was
read followed by prayer. "Jesus
Shall Reign Where'er the Sun"
was sung.' Mrs. John Kerr read
the scripture reading from Acts
20:17-27. The meditation,
"Climbing up by falling down",
was read by Ws, Higgins and
"How Firm a Foundation", was
sung.
Mrs. Murray Lougheed con-
ducted the business. Minutes of
the' last meeting ,were read and
adopted.
Mrs. Ross Anderson announced
the general meeting of the
U.C.W. to be held November' 25
and the North Huron Regional
Rally will be held at Kurtzville,.
October 22 at 7 p.m., the speaker
being Helen Allen of Toronto,
editor of Today's Child and TV
program Family Finder.
An invitation to attend the
Auburn U.C.W. Thankoffering on
October 23 with Miss Lavonne
Ballagh as guest speaker was re-
ceived.
Mrs. John Roberts had charge
of the program, "Health Care in
Tanzania". The November meet-
.ing ill, be at the -tome of Mrs.
Ross Anderson.
Lunch was served by Mrs. Ross
Higgin's group.
Euchre winners
BELGRAVE Four tables of
euchre were played last Wednes-
day evening in the community
rooms. High lady was Mrs.' Ethel
Wheeler; novelty lady, Mrs.
Hazel Procter; low lady, Mrs.

There will be another euchre
next Wednesday night. Everyone
is welcome.
A BATON -TWIRLING INDIAN? Why not, especially 'at a
Thanksgiving Day assembly. Actually, the 'twirler' was -
Lisa Thompson who didn't have time to change outfits after
participating in a play at the East Wawanosh Public School
assembly last Friday morning. The ` assembly was or-
ganized by the grade "Six students.
