Grand Ole Opry star LeRoy
Van Dyke will appear in concert
at the Howick Community Centre
on Oct. 11. Proceeds from the
concert and a following dance
will go to pay for the new Wrox-
eter baseball park.
The park which as been in use
this summer cost the community
$13,000. A considerable amount of
money was raised by public
donation and a government grant
is expected to finanace 25 per
cent of the cost. The ball park
committee hopes the special con-
cert and dance will raise enough
to complete the financing.
The 36 -year-old Van Dyke has
been recording since he was 18
and has been a star at the Grand
Ole ()pry in Nashville for about aS,,,
long. His best known hits include
The Auctioneer and Walk On By,
both of which sold over a million
recordings.
