Country Singles Dance SAT., SEPT 13 at HULLY GULLY Music by THE BLENDERS Refreshments .Served Watch for our next dance on Sept. 20 at VANASTRA Music by "The Country Companions" Sports Traveicade- comiin0; to Wingham • The Ontario sports Travelcade, sponsored by the Ministry of Cul- ture and Recreation, is coming to Wingham Wednesday and Thurs- day, Sept. 17 and 18. The Travel- cade is a mobile source of sports information consisting of a tractor -trailer, the van of which is 45 feet long and l 81/2 feet wide. When the two rear doors are opened up, 16 mm movies can be shown. Inside the van, films and slides will be shown by the Travelcade staff on several projectors: 16 mm continuous loop, slide on super 8 film, synchronized slide sound and carousel slide. Films will also be shown on a color TV monitor, video cassette recorder player and a VTR porta-pac camera unit. • ' A library section will be avail- able for reference, with a copy machine on the spot if copies of items are needed. Pamphlets of various sports will be displayed near the unit. Although the van is directed at coaches and officials to raise their level of expertise it is believed the contents and style of the Travelcade - van plus clinics - will aid and interest all age groups in the community. There will be five staff mem- bers to provide assistance within the van and at exterior clinic sites. As one of the members the technician will be prepared to take the porta-pac unit along to a clinic. On Thursday, Sept. 18 from 3-5 p.m. and again from 6:30 to 8:30 there will be tennis clinics staged at the tennis courts and F. E. Madill S.S. These are free of charge for anyone who wants to take part. During the evening of Wednes- day and Thursday, films will be shown either at the van or in the school depending on the weather. These will all be sports oriented on various sports. A two hour session each evening will be spent on sports films.
