Ontario outlined its NCI* plans
at the first annual "Ontario Re-
feree Instructors' Seminar". Don
Robb, the newly appointed As*
sistant Technical Director for the
0.11.A. invited 70 instructors and,
executives from the various
branches and associations
throughout the Provilice (OHA,
OHMA, ODHA, BABA, MTHL,
NC/HA) to finalize instrhtetions
for the scheduled referee clinics
in :the fall.' To date, 150 clinics
have been organized with an in-
volvement of approximately
6,000 referees.
The clinics are designed to pro-
vide information re rules and of
ficiating for coaches, spectators,
players; snot only the refers. All
referees involved in hockey at
any level provincially will be
carefully evaluated and certified
at these clinics. `
Since the major emphasis of
both the National Coaches' Cer-
tification Program and the Na-
tional Referees' Certification
Program is on the establishment
of acceptable behaviour for the
participants in hockey, the long
range result should be very posi-
tive in' all aspects of the game.
