A. J. Nolan in Sacred Reart Church, Wingham, COB Saturday, July 19, at three o'clock. The altars were beautifully decorated with multicolored mums and daisies and an arrangement of blue and white garden flowers. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Fontan and the groom is the son of Mrs. Johanna Dolgos, all of Winghamn. Given in marriage by her father, the bide wore .a floor - k ngth gown of white polyester crepe with high waistline, stand- up cxillar and long lilypoint sleeves. The nylon illusion hood was gathered and attached to the lengthy train that fell from the shoulders.. She carried red roses and baby's breath on a white t Bible, with red rosebuds on white streamers. The attendants were dressed Mate in powder blue polyester sleeveless. gowns with navy jackets featuring short puffed . sleeves and V necklines. They wore blue ribbon in their hair and each wore a silver charm brace- let and . The attendants carried white and blue daisies with blue and white streamers. Matron of honor was Mrs. Warren Thyme, Wingham, and bridesmaids were Rhonda Fox - ton and Kathy Dolgos, sisters of the bride and groom. Michele Foxton carried her sister's train. The groom was attended by Brad Lewis as his best man, Dennis Dolgos and Rick Foxton as ushers. They wore dark blue tuxedos and trousers with white ruffled shirts and blue tinted carnation boutonnieres. The groom wore a red carnation boutonniere. Mrs. Jack Brophy was the organist. Mass servers were Mark Foxton and Craig Ander- son, cousins of the bride, and Mike Foxton, brother of the bride. Nancy Anderson and - Michele Foston carried the gifts of bread and wine to the altar at the consecration of the Mass. They were dressed alike in long powder bh a polyester V -necked dresses with short puffed sleeves. Following the wedding, a din- ner and reception were held in the Wingham Legion Hall. ; , . d Lewis acted as master of cere- monies and Ed Schneider, uncle and godfather of the bride, said the blessing. The head table was centred with a four -tiered wed- ding cake decorated in the white, blue and navy theme. The bride's mother received guests wearing a lor" mat dress of sheer blue nylon patterned with blue and mauve flowers. She wore an orchid corsage. The groom's mother chose a long pink polyester halter dress and wore a white gardenia corsage_ Honored guests at the wedding were grandparents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wissler, Tees - water, and the groom's grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geert Guikema of Wingham.. For travelling west to Winni- peg, the bride chose a two-piece flowered dress with tan acces- sories and a bronze daisy cor- sage. Mr. and Mrs. Dolgos will reside in Teeswater where Mary Lou will be teaching at Sacred Heart School. David is with Electro - home, Wingham. Prior to the wedding, the bride 'Was honored at several showers. Neighbors held a shower at the home of Mrs. Harold Schiestel, hosted by Mrs. Schiestel, Mrs. Adam Kennedy and Mrs. Red- mond MacDonald. Mrs. Dorothy MacKinnon and Mrs. Mary Anderson, aunts of the bride, held ashower for relatives and friends at the home of Mrs. Anderson in Teeswater. Aunts of the bride in Wingham, Mrs. Bob Foxton, Mrs. Don Cameron and Mrs. Rod Hickey, held a shower at the home of Mrs. Hickey, for rela- tives and friends. A shower was held for friends at the home of Mrs. Bob Chettlebuugh, hosted by girlfriends, Mrs. Esther Thynne and Miss Marg Bushel. COOKIES AND MILK were the fun part of donating blood last Wednesday at the Red Cross blood donor clinic. The clinic was stationed at the CKNX studios from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Over 130 donors volunteered to give their blood during these times. SchmId - Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Wingham, was the scene of a colorful summer wedding at five o'clock on Friday, July 18, when Barbara Jean Murray of Wngham and Douglas William Schmid of Toronto were united in marriage by Rev. A. J. Nolan. Pastel ribbons with ivy and nose- gays of pastel flowers adorned the church sanctuary for the happy occasion. amiss Rosemary Schmidt was organist and ac cotnpanied the soloist, Mrs. Carl Douglas, who sang "Make Me a Channel` of Your Peace" and "A Wending Prayer". , . The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Murray of Holy - rood. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. William Schmid of Lucknow. Mr. Murray gave his e�. Gail Barbour, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Barbour, RR 2, Bluevale . graduated from the Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology Nursing Program in Owen Sound can July 19.. She has ac- cepted a pasifion on the nurs- ing staff at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto_ Debbie Townsend, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Townsend of Wroxeter gradu- ated from Conestoga College, School of Nursing, K -W Hos- pital Division on Saturday, July 26, 1975. Graduation exercises were held at the Kitchener Memorial Audito- rium. Following graduation a dinner and dance were held at Cedar Grove Lodge.. Debbie is a graduate of F. E. Madill S.S. in Wingham. The bride was preceded to the front of the church by her atten- dants. Mrs. Elaine Fisher of Bar- rie was matron of honor, at- tractively gowned in pale yellow flocked print with delicate white daisy edging. The sum- mery styling featured empire waistline, deep neckline, tiny shaped sleeves and a hemline ruffle. She carried a bouquet of daisies, baby's breath and carna- tions tinted to match her dress, with yellow streamers extending to the floor. In complementing pastel, shades were the other attendants. Miss Debbie Murray of Drayton, as bridesmaid, wore" blue flocked print with a blue and white bou- quet. Junior bridesmaid, Miss Cynthia McCarter of Wallace - burg, wore pink flocked print and carried a pin and white bou- quet; and the other junior brides- maid, Miss Melanie Kraemer of Rexdale, wore white flocked printed 'with yellow flowers and carried a matching yellow and white bouquet with yellow strearriers. The flower girl, Miss Kara Fisher of Barrie, wore a pale yellow gown, styled like that of the matron' of honor, with a white raffled pinafore. She' carried a basket of yellow rose petals and in her traditional role as flower girl, scattered them - before the bride on a white carpet. Making her entrance behind her attendants, the bride was beautifully gowned in white voile, styled on empire lines with a slightly gathered A-line skirt. Delicate Venice lace bands high- lighted the bodice, short sleeves and hemline. A full flounce trimmed the skirt and chapel - length train. A custom-made headpiece of Venice lace held her full gathered two-tiered net veil and she carried a bouquet of stephanotis, carnations and ivy, centered with a white orchid. Dr. Fraser Ashton of Lucerne, Quebec. was best man and guests were ushered by Ted Schmid of . Burlington, Barry Greib of Sund- ridge and Gerald Murray of Holyrood. Tables were adorned with white cloths and bouquets of Queen ,line'slace centred with candles in pastel colors to • match the dresses of the bridal attendants. The head table featured two. large .glass chimneys over bouquets of Queen Anne's lace and white candles. The bride's mother wore a polyester crepe gown in vari- gated shades of apricot to deep pink. The gown was styled 'with long sleeves, flowing skirt and a soft fabric bow at the neckline. Her corsage was white gardenias with touches of green. The groom's mother chose flowered 41. figured nylon with long sleeves and full skirt, in shades of blue. She wore a white rose corsage. For tvelling to the East Coast, the bride changed to a short dress of pale green poly- ester crepe with hunting scenes in navy and brown and wooden buttons. A corsage of daisies completed her outfit. Mr. and Mrs. Schmid will reside in Toronto. The bride was employed at the F. E. Madill Secondary School.
