Monday at 11 o'clock. Inter-
ment followed in Hamilton

Wednesday, July 16, at two
o'clock, at the R. A. Currie and
Son Funeral Home for Joseph
Herbert Laidlaw of Whitechurch.
Rev. Clarence McClenaghan of
Paisley and J. B. Kay of White-
church officiated and interment
followed in Wingham Cemetery.
. Pallbearers were Elroy Laid-
law, Ken Laidlaw, Arthur Laid-
law, Raymond Laidlaw, Clifford
Laidlaw and Carl McClenaghan.
Floral tributes were carried to
the graveside by '.Janet Laidlaw,
April Moore, Curtis Moore and
Mark Moore.
Herbert Laidlaw died Monday,
July 14, at the Pinecrest Manor
Nursing Home, Lucknow, follow-
ing a lengthy illness. He was in
his 80th year. Born in West Waw-
anosh Township on May 14, 1896,
he was a son of the late Joseph
Laidlaw and Betsy Thom Purdon.
He was educated in West Waw-
anosh and farmed until his retire-
ment in 1960. He was a member of
Whitechurch United Church.
His wife, the former Ona Cuella
McClenaghan of Whitechurch,
Predeceased him in 1958. He was
also predeceased by one daugh-
ter, Alma, in infancy ; two broth-
ers, James and Robert Laidlaw,
and two sisters, Mrs. Sam (Bes-
sie) Coulter and Mrs. James
(Maggie) Falconer.
Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Jack (Luella) Kerr of RR.4'
Wingham; one son, Ivan Laidlaw
of Whitechurch ; four grandchil-
dren ; four great-grandchildren ;
and two sisters, Annie and Mary
Laidlaw of RR 1, Lucknow.
