Steriing HaSk.ins was gee native
generating plant that supplied
power to Lion's Head. He pur-
chased a grist mill in Lion's Head
in 1940 and operated it until 1955.
During the last 20 years, he has
worked at his hobby, woodwork-
ing.
He was a member of the Cen-
tral United .Church, Lion's Head,
and had been a member of the
village council. He was a
member of the Independent
Order of Foresters, Brantford,
and a veteran of World War One,
serving in the 161st Bruce Battal-
ion.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Margaret Metcalfe of
Belmore, whom he married in
1920; three sons, Allan of Lion's
Head,, Bruce of Tara and Ronald
of Windsor; two daughters, Mrs.
Wallace . (Edith) Greig of Virgil
and Mrs. Elwood (Jean) Tacka-
berry of Lion's Head; nine grand-
children and sixgreat-grandchil-
dren. There is also one brother,
Carl of Stokes Bay and one sister,
Mrs. Robert (Zella) Duncan of
Hamilton.
Funeral service was held
Wednesday, May 7, for Sterling
Haskins of Lion's Head who died
Monday, May 5, at the Earl
Harris Red Cross Hospital in
Lion's Head.
Rev. T. A. Scott conducted the
service, assisted by Rev. William
Wilkinson, The Davidson Funeral
Home was in'charge of arrange-
ments:
Pallbearers were nephews of
the 'deceased, Bill Rintoul, Jack
Mulvey, Murray Underwood,
Gerald Duncan; Ralph Metcalfe
and Leonard Metcalfe. Floral
Tributes were carried by grand-
children, Larry Tackaberry, Ken
Haskins, Helen Westover, Brian
Greig, Barbara Greig, Paul
Haskins, Robin Haskins and Scott
Haskins.
Interment followed in Eastnor
Cemetery. ,
Mr. Haskins was .horn 82 years
ago in Walkerton, a son of the late
Albert and Sarah Hakins. For
some time he operated a grist
mill in the village of Belmore,
moving to Barrow Bay in 1938
where he operated the electric

dies in Kitchener
Passed away at Kitchener
Waterloo Hospital on Thursday,
May 15, T. MaxWell Abram of 40
Spadina Road East, Kitchener.
He was in his 86th year: ,
Mr. Abram was born in Morris
Township on November 30, 1889.
.His parents were the late Thomas
Abram and Elizabeth Casemore.
During his lifetime, he lived in
Morris Township, Grey Town-
ship, Listowel and Palmerston.
He wasa barber in the latter two
towns before his retirement in
Kitchener. He was a member of
Highland Road United Church,
Kitchener.
Surviving are his wife, the
forrper Frances C. Schpock,
whom he married in Walton in
1913; one son, Vern M. Abr;aim of

at two o'clock by Rev. L. Wigand

Road United Church. Burial

and Gordon Jackson of Listowel,
Arnold McDougall of Palmer-
ston, Ken Parsons, Vern Klemp
and Grant Reid all of Kitchener.
Former resident
dies in Welland
Mrs. John Skinner, the former
L. Hazel Brandon, died at Wel-
land, Ontario, On Wednesday,
May 14.
Mrs. Skinner was a former
resident of Wingham and an ac-
complished musician. She had
been church organist in Mitchell,
where she married her late hus-
band, and at churches in Leam
ington and Welland. She is sur-
vived by five nieces and two
nephews.
Service was conducted at the
Davidson Funeral Home in Wel-
land on Friday at 1 p.m., with
interment in Mitchell.
