and the other animals at the Sleepy Hollow Rabbitry seemed more wary of the young
visitors than vice -versa.
Whitechurch Personal Notes
On Saturday, the members of '
the local 4H club, Sylvia Weber,
Ann deBruyn, Lori= and Kathy
Purdon, Lori Jamieson and
Wendy Kay, along with their
leaders, Mrs. Walter Elliott and
Mrs. Archie Purdon, were at
Lucknow for Achievement Day.
Kathy Purdon received a County
Honors certificate and pin for
completing 12 projects. Each of
the other girls received a spoon,
with Wendy Kay, Lori Jamieson
and Ann deBruyn receiving two-
year certificates. Lori -Jamieson
and- Ann deBruyn demonstrated
the use Of versatile bread crumbs
in ovenside fish, stuffed" tomatoes
and chocolate bread pudding.
Kathy purdon has been chosen to
attend the 4-H conference at
Guelph in June: •
Mrs. Clarence Ritchie, second
concession of Kinloss, Mrs.
Gordon Ritchie of Lucknow and
Mrs. Gershom Johnston of Wing -
ham attended Brenda Ritchie's
graduation aft Centralia College.
On Friday those whose remains
had been at. • the Kinloss
Mausoleum were buried at Lang-
side Cemetery, namely Mrs.
William Orr and Dave Scott.
This community extends
sympathy to the friends and rela-
tives of Mrs. George Scott of
Wingham whose funeral washeld
on Friday to Langside Cemetery.
Mrs. Edith Brown of London
was a Mother's Day weekend
visitor with her parents, Mr. and
NYrs. Bill Evans. •
On Thursday evening last, the
staff of the Bank of Montreal held
a pantry and kitchen shower for
bride-to-be Shirley Tiffin at the
home of Mrs. A. Johnston.
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Evans, -
Diane and her friend of Hyc2
Park on Sunday took Mrs. Evans'
mother, Mrs. Robert Donaldson,
and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Evans, to dinner at the Hartley
House, Walkerton.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Alex Craig on the arrival at
Wingham Hospital on Fiiday,
May 9, of a baby boy, Ryan
Alexander, a brother for Lana.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Durnin
were Sunday evening visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Clayton
Scholtz and family of Goderich.
Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Mc-
Clenaghan were Thursday even-
ing visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Ben McClenaghan. They will be
moving to the Paisley charge in
the near future.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted McClen-
aghan of Kitchener visited on the
weekend with Miss Mildred
McClenaghan at the farm.

day the Children's Choir gave
numbers and Jack Whytock gave
violin numbers.

Tiffin of Kitchener were weekend
visitorSit their home here and
called Sunday on their mother,
Mrs. Dan Tiffin, in Wingham
Hospital. Mr. and„ Mrs. Doug
Tiffin and family of Wingham
and Mr. and Mrs. Bevin Tiffin
arid Stephen were also visitors at
the hospital.
Mrs. Dan Tiffin was allowed
home on Monday from Wingham
and District Hospital.

day visitors with Mr. and Mrs. E.
W. Beecroft and Karen.
Mr. and Mrs. Angus Falconer
were Sunday evening visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery

who moved last'week to Alan Fal-
coner's brick house.

every evening the ball diamond is
a busy place with the teenagers
practising ball playing.

father, Albert Coultes, and with
her sister, Mrs -Alex Craig and
baby at Wingham Hospital.
Dr. Conn Armstrong left by
plane on Sunday evening for
White 'City, Saskatchewan, after
her week's vacation here.

her cousin at Brampton.
Bible study is being held May
17 at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Young of Langside.
Communicants' class is being
held May 21 at 8:30 at White-
church. .
The senior students of Huron
Centennial School at Brucefield
presented a program of skits and
music on Monday afternoon. The
theme of the program was "The
History of Huron ,County” with
music and events over the past
100 years. The principal of the
school, Mr. Mathers, was emcee
for the -afternoon with Mrs. Doris
McKinlay directing the choir and
Mrs. Moffatt playing the piano
accompaniment. The concert
was appreciated very much by
the residents as they recalled
when most of the events had hap-
pened. Mrs. Elsie Henderson
thanked the students and teach-
ers.
The residents enjoyed a musi-
cal program on Family Night
featuring the Harboraire§. The
Harboraires, a roup of 30 men
from the Goderich area, love to
sing and harmonize and they
proved it Tuesday evening sing-
ing several old songs as well as
religious numbers. One of their
members, John Greidanus ar-
ranged the program and was
emcee /for the evening. Two
groups; of young ' ple assisted
'with the music which included
vocal numbers by Trudy Ny-
kamp, Gingrid Damsma, Irene
Heykoop, Rene and Audrey
Roorda and vocal solos by Chris-
tina Bylsma. Wind instruments
were played by Steven DeBoer,
Jim Kluzinga, Leonard and Ray-
mond Greidanus. Mrs. Ramsay
'expressed the appreciation -of the
'residents to all those responsible
for the entertainment.
Reception held
for newlyweds
BELGRAVE — A reception
and dance were held on Saturday
evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs.
Ray McNichol (Kathy Dunbar)
RR 2, Blyth who were recently
married. Music was supplied by
the Alley Cats.
Before lunch was served Kathy
and Ray were invited to the front
when an address was read by
Clifford Coultes and a gift of
money was presented to them by
Jack Taylor.
Both Ray and Kathy thanked
everyone.

Mrs. Golley thanked Mrs. Gray
for her interesting topic and
letter and also extended grati-
tude to Mrs. Elston for sharing
her home.
Mrs. Golley opened the meet-
ing with a ,poem, "Anniversary
Prayer". All joined in singia
hymn with Mrs. Keith Moffatt
presiding at the piano.' Scripture
from the sixth chapter of
Hebrews and comments were
given by Mrs. Elston. Mrs.
Moffatt led in prayer.
The minutes of the April meet-
ing were 'read by Mrs. McKer-
cher and roll call was answered
by 17 members, giving comments
on books they had purchalsed
through the Literature and Li-
brary committee of the WMS.

on the Syme Meeting held at

hostess, assisted by Mrs. Golley
and Mrs. Moffatt.
